There is a reason for this!

Hi, This is my first time here, & so far, I'm impressed. I was diagnosed in October of last year. I'm currently in treatment... only 1 chemo treatment left & then 34 radiation treatments. This whole thing has been an adventure for me. I know that God doesn't cause the cancer, but I also know that there is a reason I am going through this. And, looking back over the last 6 months, I can already see His hand at work. Plus, things aren't nearly as scary as I thought! It's the unknown that's the worse. I'm looking forward to meeting other survivors.

    Hi welcome to the group.this has been a very useful web site there is always someone out there too answer your questions.I am still trying to figrue out why this happened to me but guess all never know the answer to that one i know god has his reason whatever they might be.Dont hesitate too ask questions if you have them.I was dignosed with cancer in Jan.i have one chemo left and theniam done.Hope you find this site useful.bunnie

    Hi Karen--This is my first time writing here--I've logged on a few times and "observed". I agree that God doesn't cause the cancer. He gives us the strength to get through it and I feel, from my experiences, helps us to realize more than ever, how blessed we are to have the family and friends that we do. I always appreciated them, but there is certainly a new appreciation now! I had a lumpectomy in Jan. of 2001 (9 positive lymph nodes, clean margins, etc.). I went thru 6 mos of chemo and 6 weeks of radiation. I must say, that all in all, it went by pretty quickly and wasn't as bad as I anticipated. I finished my last radiation treatment in July 2002 and then the drs. found a complex cyst on my ovary (8 1/2 cm.) which they told me had a 50% chance of being malignant. I then had a complete hysterectomy and received the WONDERFUL news that there was no cancer there. Since then, I have been doing fine. I'm sure you'll find things much easier going thru radiation as opposed to chemo. Keep smiling and keep the faith.

    This is my 1st time here too.I was diagnosed on oct.as well. I had 21 L.nodes removed -1 was cancerous.I had 4 chemo treatments and have 2 weeks (out of 6) radiation treatments left.I now know of all the good people in my life..friends and family are amazing..I now find myself looking back on my life what I could or should have done but now I want to look to the future that i now have..I definatley need some support and can't wait till I feel like myself again...hope your treatments are going well..just take one day at a time like I have been doing..we have the future .Thank God..what doesn't kill us makes us stronger.

    Welcome to the site. I am a 2 year survivor. I had radiation and chemo also. It is true, God is with us every step of the way. Lean on Him during this most difficult time. Without Christ, I don't know how I would have made it maintaining my sanity. Keep us posted. I'll be praying for you. Remember, God knows about each sparrow that falls from the sky...how much more important to Him you are!

    My name is Connie and I am from Muncie Ind. It sounds like we are in the same shape. I have one more chemo left and 6 weeks of radiation. I have a cough so I am a little scared. This chemo can cause strange things so I am hoping that it is from that.I go on Mon. for my last chemo and it is cytoxin.I had some bad effects from it the last time so they waited an extra week. I will be glad to get this over as I am sure you will be. I am glad you have faith. I wish I could get mine back. Good luck.
