I am 62 and have had follicular lymphoma over 2 years now am in what I call remission. No swolen lympnodes, the last CT-scan showed every thing back to normal. I was on ratuxan and cemo. I now go in about every 3 mo. for checkups and the blood looks good. I am still working and doing fine. Tell your mother to stay positive (cancer hates that) and stay active.

Thanks for the reply. My mom is taking fludarabine and mitixantrone, but no rituxan. So far her blood looks good and she's just finished her 2nd of at least 4 courses of chemo, one every 4 weeks. It's good to know you're doing well and I appreciate the help.taylorj said:I am 62 and have had follicular lymphoma over 2 years now am in what I call remission. thanks for the reply.Mom's doing pretty well after 2nd of 4 treatments of fludarabine/mitoxantrone.Her blood is good and I'm forcing her to eat nutritious foods. No rituxan yet but I don't know why.Like you,she is in good spirits and I agree that helps a lot.taylorj said:I am 62 and have had follicular lymphoma over 2 years now am in what I call remission. Hi Randy, my name is Michelle I was diagnosed on 28/02/03 with Low grade Follicular Lymphoma, Stage 3. i have just finished my 5th month of Chemo tablets called Chlorambucil (Leukeran) i take 10mg (2mg X 5 tablets) a day for 14 days on then 14 days off. Fortunantly my body is responding to this treatment most of my tumors have shrunk by 1/2, my hard to live with side effects are the aches and pains in the bones all of the time. My doctor has told me if i relapse we have the Rituxan as an option, as well as stem cells, bone marrow transplant i suppose he must have other options because low grade NHL can come back often, so maybe he will use that treatment on your mum if it is needed. I am 37 years old and i pray and hope it never returns once it's gone.railroad said:thanks for the reply.Mom's doing pretty well after 2nd of 4 treatments of fludarabine/mitoxantrone.Her blood is good and I'm forcing her to eat nutritious foods. No rituxan yet but I don't know why.Like you,she is in good spirits and I agree that helps a lot.
