HI I HAD A NEEDLE BIOSPSY IN DEC 2002
AND IT CAME BACK UNCONSLUSIVE.
SO THEY DID SURGERY REMOVED HALF OF MY THYROID KEPT TELLING ME OH IT CANT BE CANCER ITS RARE IF IT IS.
WELL THEY DID A FREEZE DURING SURGERY CAME BACK OK SO THEY SEWED ME UP
WELL 3 DAYS LATER GUESS WHAT I HAVE THYROID CANCER PAPILLARY CARCINOMA.
SO NOW I HAVE TO GO BACK IN DO THE SURGERY AGAIN WHICH I DONT WANT TOO
I HAD IT IN JAN 18TH 2003
IT WAS AWFUL I HAVE THREE KINDS OF ARTHRITIS SO MY RECOVERY IS ALOT SLOWER AND PAINFUL
I STILL CANT EAT VERY GOOD THEY SAY IN TIME I WILL BE ABLE TO EAT BETTER AGAIN IS THIS TRUE?
HOW DID EVERYONE ELSE DO WHEN THEY CAME HOME FROM THE SURGERY OR HAVING A SECOND ONE TO REMOVE THE REST OF THE THYROID?
I AM REALLY SCARED AND FEEL SO ALONE
I DONT NO WHAT TO DO
THEY SAY AFTER THE SURGERY I NEED TO HAVE THE IODINE RADIATION WHAT IS THAT GOING TO DO AND IS IT BAD?
PLEASE I HOPE SOMEONE CAN ANSWER ME I NEED ALL THE INPUT PLEASE

WELL JUST WANTED TO SAY HI AND VENT AND I HOPE I CAN MAKE SOME FRIENDS IN HERE

    hi michele -- i had a similar situation exactly one year ago... i'm through the surgery and preparing for my second round of radioactive iodine. i'm happy to answer any questions you might have, as i know how much i would have liked the same a year ago. we can email or talk live -- what's your preference?

    Hope your treatment is going smoothly. I had the same type of cancer over 4 years ago and would be happy to share the experience with you(and tell you the things I wish someone would have told me). ~DJ

    Well, I'm right behind you. My surgery is on Tuesday. The docs are'nt sure if its cancer but I'm having at least one lobe removed and possibly both. I too will have to take the radiation treatment, so I'm not sure what that will be like. I talked to my neighbor who went through this 15 yrs ago and she said its not that bad. You have to take the meds daily, but other than that she has not had any problems. I guess I'll just wait and see for my self. Anyway it would be nice to correspond with you & to share experiences and indight.

    wolfclantree: This is the best therapy - I had surgery 1 year ago followed by 3 RI treatments. I had a clean scan October 2002 and go back for the next scan April 2003. it is a looming date in my mind. My wife and family have gone on with what we do on a daily basis and I try to do the same. it is extremely hard to not think about the upcoming scan. As far as everyoneelse is concerned I have moved past the worse part of all this and I just can't convince myself of this. i have never tried the CSN and just reading the words o so many people who I know feel what I am feeling is my therapy. I pray God will lead me through this and this is the only one I can truly coubnt on. I pray for others who are going through the same situation, for healing and strength to get through this.     Hi, I had the right nodule removed with a grapefruit size tumor on Feb 14th going back on 3/28 for the left side and limph nodes
