How do you cope?

Stay in touch with this network if you can.
Men (boys) unfortunatly do not grow up and mature fast enough and most do not have the maturity to understand anything but themselves. You are important and you will cope! Get you CT scan and dig deep for the courage I know you have. Keep a positive attitude and move on with YOUR life, don't dwell with his life or not being mature enough to deal with a mature issue.
God bless.

I'm sorry to hear about your situation. I'm 30 years old and can't imagine how it must have to felt to be diagnosed with cancer at such a young age. My father was diagnosed with prostate cancer this past May and that has been very devastating to our family to say the least. As for your boyfriend telling you to move out, well, that was just a good sign that he wasn't worth having. I'm sure you will meet someone else more worthy of having you in the future. Do you have a sister or mother who can go with you to your doctor's appointments and CT scans? Or perhaps a close friend. I'm sure there's someone else in your life who can help you thru this difficult time.
I hope everything goes well for you. Hope all your tests turn out o.k. Will be thinking and praying for you and if you ever need to talk, feel free to send me an e-mail anytime.
Take care,
Beth```````0 -
I agree on the immaturity thing, with the self-absorbed streak. Don't let this stop you from taking care of yourself, though--that means, go get the CT scan. Talk to your doctor and see if you can get a tranquilizer to take before the test, if necessary. (I have one cancer-surviving friend who takes Vicadin every time she goes in for hers.)
Please, look for other possible supporters. Friends may come through better than you hope.
