My sister-in-law, who is so dear to me is pregnant. She has been trying for over a year to get pregnant. Back in April she had a bad experience with an ectopic pregnancy. She is now 16 weeks pregnant and her AFP is elevated. Hopefully this means her dates are wrong or she has twins. The worst case scenario is a neural tube defect, spina bifada or hydrocephaly. PLEASE start sending up prayers now that this is a normal pregnancy! She is such a loving, giving person I just can't stand to see her and my brother hurt. Please God let her be having twins. Ladies please pray! God bless, hummb

During my first pregnancy I also had an elevated AFP, and I spent 5 months worrying that I was going to have a Down's Syndrome baby, or some other birth defect, and she turned out perfect. After that I read that the AFP test has a really high false positive rate, so during my next pregnancy I opted not to have it done, with full agreement with my ob/gyn. She told me if there were any neural tube defects it would show up on ultrasound anyway, so I didn't want to spend all that time worrying. So keep that in mind and don't worry too much about it, and we'll pray for a healthy baby!

Hi Terri,
You are always there for the rest of us, so we will definitely be in our prayer closets for you sister-in-law. James says "The prayer of a righteous man or woman is powerful and effective".
Dear Lord, we humbly come before you and boldly ask in Jesus name, as the word says, for the health of this new one in her mother's womb. Your word says in Psalm 139:13, "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb". So, Lord, we thank you in advance for a normal pregnancy for you are our Creator and a God of love. We give you praise and honor. Your word also says in Matthew 18:19, "Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven." Lord, we come in agreement with these many sisters for the health of this child and thank you for your mercy. In Jesus name. Amen.0 -
