Hi everyone! I am new to this chat stuff. I had hodkins at age 23, I went through 6-months of chemo & 5 weeks of radiation, the year of hell I call it! I still live in fear of it coming back, but I am trying to keep positive. This is the first time that I have wanted to openly talk about it with other cancer patients or survivors. I was SOOOOOO angry and just did not want to think about it, but now the anger is kinda fading. I am even writing a college term paper on chemo and how it affects cancer patients physically & emotionally.
I just keeping telling myself that I beat it and it will not get me! Like the doctors say "if you are going to get cancer, get hodgkins!"

So, how are you doing? Are you in the middle of treatment? How is that going? After I was told what I had, the first month was the worst, I was so scared, depressed, angry, I even thought about suicide, I am soooooo glad I did not choose that option! Instead, I chose to fight it! I continued working full time throughout my treatments and would not give up, no matter how sick I was!sherra said:Hi-I was diagnosed with Hodgkins Disease a couple of months ago. I'm 22 years old, it was a total shock-still is. I'm hoping to hear from someone who has gone through this at my age.
Now, I am married to the wonderful man that stuck with me through the whole ordeal, I am now going to college, and have a good career started. So, things are looking up. If you have any questions that may help you, please ask. I will be glad to help, I don't mind at all0
