hi all,
well surgery went ok. did i tell you i ended up having another tumor, in my axilla?
anyway, i am prob going to do the xeloda, taxotere combo 4-6 cycles. has anyone done and how did you tolerate? i am holding my breath that all will go well as it did the first time, except the nausea and joint pain with the ac and taxol. thanks for your suggestions and prayers.

Bad enough we should have one but I too had another grow in armpit in one week to the size of a golf ball. I was wondering if yours grew as furiously as this second lump. The initial lump was in r/s breast but eventually had the second mastectomy 1 year later more lumps but these were all benign. I had combination of those two drugs plus 5FU Red Devil we call up here cause this one is sure to make one loose their hair. There was a forth but I don't remember the name and these were given all at once, combination drug therapy. I too had 6 chemo with 16 radiation. Here in Canada they give us more radiation and less number of times from what I understand, my experience has been.
Remember to drink lots of water while going through the chemo, helps to flush through body quicker. Keep the other cells well hydrated and how is the appitite? Remember one can drink their nutrition too.
Keep us posted on how you are doing, I think it helps us all to know others experiences helps us to know we are not alone, something we all need to feel deep down.
Be good to yourself,

Dear CAthy
I didn't have the 2 drugs together but had Taoxotere until April (6 cycles) & am currently on Xeloda (nearly through 1st cycle). Taxotere is a rough one with diarohea & cramps and a little hair loss. Xeloda is hard on mouth & gut with ulcers, sore mouth & diarohea also. I get constipated from the large amounts of morphine so they cancel each other out but the Taxotere caused the worst runs & cramps. It also left me with weak & painful joints. The worst problem with Xeloda is hand & foot syndrome (blisters & hot swelling on hands & feet) but I have not had this as you have to stop taking it if you do get it. Still we can get through it if we have to, to kick this thing in the butt. Let me know if you need any more info. But you can do this if I can. I am with you.
Love & hugs
