Hello Everyone, I've been checking this site each day and responding when I could relate to the message because of my own knowledge and experience. This site has taught me so much...mostly that you are there whenever anyone needs some bolstering! I'm in that position now. I got a good report from my onc and blood work for my 6 mos checkup. However I am menopausal and I had some spotting in July. The gyn saw me this week and I had an ultrasound today. My endrometrial lining is thicker than it should be so they want to do a biopsy. I've had this before....ouch! Of course everyone says don't worry, but that's what they told me when I had my breast biopsy and since then I've had a mastectomy of my rt breast. I know I shouldn't worry, but I'm so scared. It helps to vent here...thanks for listening!
Cathy

Hi Cathy. Sorry you're having another scare. Don't jump to conclusions yet. It's possible it's just a normal change in the endometrial lining. I had an ultrasound last week and mine also showed changes but the MD said it is a normal change on a uterous of someone taking Tamoxifen. Take a deep breath and wait to worry when and if you have something to worry about. I'll be thinking of you. Keep in touch. Let us know what's happening. HUGS!! Cathy

    Dear Cathy,
It's ok to worry, the Lord knows we've been through enough. The important thing is to not let the worrying make you think the worst is inminently going to happen. Stay strong and try to engage in activities that you truly enjoy. It's ok to have down time, the important thing to know is that if it is something you've caught it and can do something about it. Stay away from any negative energy. Stay Well, will pray for you!
    Hugs,

Dear Cathy, I'm sure everything will be alright. God's gotten you this far. If it were me and if you're breast cancer was ER+ I'd be asking the Doc for a hysterectomy. Take it all ovaries and everything. I know that may sound a bit radical, but once it's out no more periods and nothing left to worry about. My hys was the best thing I ever did. Your MD can tell how well the Tamoxifen is working by getting some blood tests (FH, FSH, LH...) this lets you know if the Tamoxifen has put you in a menopausal state. The same thing happened to me. I was on Tam for 1 year then started to break through, they wanted to give me shots but I said no and opted for the surgery. Not for everyone, but gives you something else to think about. Best of luck and God bless, TByrd

cathy, my thoughts will be with you and hoping the biopsy is negative. We all wonder about the rest of reproductive organs it seems the breasts have "failed" us the rest should do so , but I hope the results will just show no cancer, so you don't have to go thru anymore!! Take Good Care!!

    Hi Cathy,

I went through the same thing earlier this year. I've been on tamoxifen for 3 years, almost four now and am pre-menopausal. My periods used to be regular, but now they come and go. Earlier I had a month where I was spotting every week, so they did the biopsy. I think it scared my husband more than me when I went home and told him, but everything was fine. I have asked for a hysterectomy, but neither my gyn or onc will approve it. Right now my period has stopped for awhile again, but when it comes back, it usually comes back with a vengenance. Oh, the "wonders" of menopause. I can't wait to get through it altogether. Hang in there, we're all in this together. Hope this helps.

    God Bless,
    Kathy

Hi Cathy...I had a talk with my onc about checking for uterine cancer since I'm on tamoxifen. I told her if they ever wanted to biopsy me, they would have to put me out or I would just live with the fact I might have the cancer. She said if I pressed the issue, it could be done outpatient. Not sure if this is an option for you, but it's worth a thought. I think worrying about the procedure is sometimes worse than waiting for the diagnosis. Hang in there...if I could be there to hold your hand, I would. God bless, Cyndi
