Reduction?

Hi girls, it's 5 months since my tram flap reconstruction and I'm due to see my surgeon on Friday to discuss nipples[can't believe I'm saying this,do you think I'll get to pick my favourite!] Anyway I probably shouldn't be complaining as everything has gone so well but my new boob is still a LOT bigger than its partner. Has anyone had their tram reduced and if so what does it entail. I'm a coward and don't really think I could face anything too major.

    Hi Liza, be patient, I had a Tram Flap and one boob was bigger then the other, for a long time.To this day (3 yrs) they are no perfect match, Doc told me that in the beginning. With a bra on , they look perfect, without, a little lopsided, but that's ok with me, at least there is something there. Had nipple recon. and then tatoo for areola.Looks almost real. Had talked about a lift to the other boob, but that would be another surgery and at this point had enough. Give it time, you could be still swollen, the breast will drop a little and get softer.     Hi Liza!

    I am just 5 wks out of Tram surgery and mine is still a wee bit bigger.. hmmm, bet they won't be too interested in reducing, they'll likely say leave it be or enlarge the other... plasticfolks are awfully protective of their "artworks".. in my limited experience! *grin*

    I am due to go back to my plastic man this week, shall I ask about it for you?

    Liza, just talked w/my plastic man.. he may be doing liposuction on mine to give me more slope on top to match my other, sloped, well used and loved breast. Soooo.. I guess you could have lipo done but not sure how much!! I may also have an area of fat necrosis (dead fat) on the outside which hurts a bit due to pulling of the dead tissue.. that may come out too... lovely.. more surgery but very minor.. the flaps left at my hips may be reduced too. *sigh* We'll see.. have to get thru' chemo first!! *smiles*

    My girlfriend had the tram flap done to make a new breast. To match it, the plastic man put an implant in her other sagging breast. Now her two breasts look exactly the same. Perfect C's, perky. So, would you consider an implant in the other breast to match your new and improved one? It really looks nice. She had her nipple done too. Great job!

    hmmm... *ponders* I might consider it.. I am extremely hesitant to "mess with" my existing breast at all though... I don't have much feeling and miss my sensitive nipple on my right.. I would hate to risk having any loss of sensation on my left! Plus, I am still keeping the idea of one more baby in the back of my mind after this, after all the chemo is gone and all... I would like to be able to nurse, albeit one-sided, successfully on the left.. Hehehehe, jury is still out on that one! I'll be sure to let you know though!! I asked the plasticman yesterday if he had "itty bitty" implants, he said yes but he won't talk to me about them 'til I am done with chemo! *laughs* Tease.
