WHY does there ALWAYS seem to be a BUT in there someplace?
I know I have not been around here much of late. I have just been so busy and tired for the last few weeks I have not felt much like using computer.
I have had a CT scan and bone scan and got sent to DAllas for a PET scan all this month, then had to wait ten days to get results from DR so I was a WRECK to say the least, just ask all those head laying on the floor, the ones I bit off while I was WAITING!!
Anyway, my ONC says all test are clear!!! NO more sign of anything where it aint suppose to be! Blood was good, and he even STOPPED my chemo two weeks early!!
BUTTTTTTTTTTT - there always HAS to be a BUT dont there? He ruined it all by saying that at some point in time he thinks it will return. NOW what do you think it is that I will be focusing ON for the NEXT two months before MY next checkup/xray/blood test. ?????
OH well I am just going to take it one day at a time and have fun with my life and my husband and our BRAND new BOAT!!
I think about you all in your struggles and my prayers are with each and everyone of you, my journey thur planet cancer is over ( at least for now) and I hope that when you all end your journey that you dont get any BUTS!!
i love you all and thanks for you many weeks of moral support!

hiya, Jerilyn,
sorry about the "but" you received. BUT i'm glad to hear that all's well. that's great news!! (even with the "but" in it) hey, you said that you were "sent to Dallas". from where were you sent? i'm in Tyler, TX about 2 hrs from there (depending on who's driving) keep hangin' on! God bless. Vicki0 -
Oh boy, I know what you mean. Well, screw him! Enjoy this time and do your best to always stay vigilant and then forget it. I don't think the docs have any idea how we hang on each and every word and gesture they make. How we worry over even a tone of voice that probably had more to do with what they had for lunch than our health. It is hard, but I am coming up on 4 years and I will tell you it does get easier. You get a little more confidence and cockier with each passing year. So hang in there and know we are all here for you and hold you softly in our arms. Hugs, Shirlann0

Jerilyn,
I am sorry the doctor added the "but" comment. In a sense i wonder whether the doctors feel they have to add that, in part because of the sue-happy society today. In the meantime, you can go on with your life, the boat, your husband ... because it may not happen. My attitude since my diagnosis has become more pragmatic. I could be killed on my way to treatment, so why worry so much about tomorrow. After all, you are at least as likely to die in a car crash in my rural area as almost anything else until you are "old."

Hi Jerilyn, I am back today reading posts and just saw red when I read yours again. I want to tell you something you can take to the bank. Your doc does not know that your cancer will return. Know doc does. I get mad every time I think about this. You will be vigilant and maybe that was his motive. But he does not know WHAT if ANYTHING will happen in your body. This has made me so mad that he would tell you this I want you to change doctors! Well, I guess that is your decision, huh? Boy, I am all steamed up again. But truly, in Dr. Susan Love's Book she has many stories but one I just loved. An Asian lady came to her with a very large tumor and involved nodes and what she called "advanced" breast cancer. The lady did not speak a word of english so Dr. Love communicated thru her two sons. She thought the lady would last a few months. Well, 12 years later, the lady is fine. Then, she had a gal with a tiny tumor, no nodes, and 6 months later she was gone. Her point is, no one knows. This is a doctor who is probably the most prominent in the field of Breast Cancer. No, don't leave your doctor, let's shoot him. Gentle hugs, Shirlann0
