Hi Folks,
Well, I did have my Peg removed and I was really nervous as I didn't know what to expect. Well, it wasn't that bad at all. It felt like a rubber band snapped for a few secinds and it was all over. I had soon drainage but it feels GREAT to have that tube out. I feel like I hit the mega million lottery!!!!! I went back to work also. That feels a little weird at first. Some people didn't know how to react to me - either talk to me like nothing happened or ignore and it will go away. But I keep going and take dy at a time and hop for the best. When you have your health, you're on top of the world. Have a great day everyone.

    Marilyn,

Congrats on getting the peg out. I was hoping that I could get rid of mine, but it looks like I'll have it for the rest of my life. Also, congrats on going back to work, I know what you mean about people not knowing how to act around you. I just act as normal as I can, and to heck if they don't like it. Good luck to you.

    No need to be nervous
    Gypsy55,

No need to be worried about the removal of the Peg. Pretty much as was explained above by Mkert. When I had mine removed, I laid back on the table in a inclined position and the Doctor grabbed the hose and gave a quick yank on the PEG hose. The Peg tube comes out quickly and as Mkert mentioned, it feels like someone smacked you in the stomach with a rubber band. A bit of a sting for a few seconds and it is over. Had allot worse happen to me in my life time.

I was told not to eat dinner and then I could eat breakfast the next morning. The site healed up pretty quickly from what I remember. I felt, this stage was one step closer to me getting back to normal.

    Peg!
I am the biggest chicken ever! My Dr. tugged the first time & it would not budge. Second yank out it came. No pain whatsoever. A snap like rubber band & that was it!
