It seems that my troubles have all but disappeared now that I have something for the pain. I am so grateful that I was able to jump the hurdle to the other side when some stay stuck in the pain and the sorrow.
The site has grown so much over the past year and I can see that the face of cancer hasn't changed that much since mine was in the midst of the storm this disease seems to bring.
Just wanted to let you know that I have now found a place where I can see myself finally after everything I have faced. I am taking this next month to spend on me, doing the things that will only help to make my health better. It is really a blessing to finally be able to work out again something that I haven't been able to do for over a year now. It is truly amazing what that hour can do for my soul, the best stress relief I have ever had, now that I can see. Who knows maybe the dragon boat racing will be in my future since the breast cancer survivors have many boats in the water these days. Who knows maybe I will meet some of you at an Outward Bound wilderness camp, I plan to do that one of these days. Hope that there is something like this in your area, a camp for survivors where one can rock climb, kayaking and other wilderness type adventures. I heard about it through my pain specialist last year at the cancer clinic. Hope to be in that good of shape one day soon.
Hope you all find your way through, to the light that is truly at the end of all our tunnels. I know better than most how dim it can seem, sometimes it seems it isn't there at all, but take another look the next day and it won't see so dim I am sure. I have found the light and what a feeling to be in touch with it embracing it once again.
Be good to yourselves,
Tara24242

Praise God that you have gotten to this point!!! I am so happy for you! I haven't been online much for the last few days, or I would have written sooner. It did my heart good just to hear you are doing so well now!!! We all have different battles to fight with our cancer, and mine was so minimal. My heart really goes out to all the women who have had or are having such a tough time of it. While I can't relate to the chemo, or to excrutiating pain, I can at least cry for those who have it so rough. It makes me sad that anyone has to go through this. But, keeping the faith, keeping a positive attitude even when it's hard to do....this all helps to get a person to where you are now. I wish you well at camp.....go get 'em Tara!!! Love and prayers, Cyndi

I am an eleven year survivor of breast cancer and so far have kept cancer at bay. Last year I joined a dragon boat team and I am paddling again this year. The support from other members of the team is just wonderful. We have members who are in their 70's and in many stages of survival. The exercise does wonders for upper body muscle tone. Our team practises once a week and we participate in the annual Dragon boat races held in Stratford, Ontario. 12 teams of survivors compete. I highly recommend the activity for anyone
