Stomach cancer diagnosis

Hi! My brother (47 yrs. old) was just diagnosed with terminal stomach cancer. We are all completely devastated. He had to have his entire stomach removed. He is not married and his two sons live 10 hours+ away from him. He is still in the hospital and my elderly father is taking care of him. My dad became a widow only 1 1/2 years ago, so this has been extremely difficult for him. How in the world do you find the strength and the courage to keep the faith? My brother has been given anywhere from 6 mos. to a year to live.

    You can because your brother has no choice either. You may want to contact the local hospice / American Cancer Society outlet in your area. There are, depending on the advance condition of your brother organizations and groups that help at minimal or no cost. You are experiencing what we all with cancer have experienced and that is the "unknown". Once we research and begin to take the task of contacting, researcing and sourcing information the fear becomes manageable - no less frightening but manageable.
    Ask your family doctor, Cancer Socitey and Hospice groups as to what is available and under what conditions would they be available?
