estrogen replacement

I was diagnosed with DCIS 2 yrs ago. Presently taking Tamoxifen. It has caused
abnormal uterine thickening and polyps,
resulting in low hemoglobin. My gynecologist
is recommending a hysterectomy. My oncologist
wants me to have my ovaries removed if I have
the hysterectomy. I am premenopausal. Has any
one else gone through this scenario? What do
you recommend for hormone replacement therapy. My doctor states the surgery will
send me into severe menopause.

Hi there! I am 24 and was diagnosed almost a year ago. I was estrogen negative with my breast cancer, but HER 2 positive. Anyway, I just had a hysterectomy 6 weeks ago because of a very strong family history of cancer. My oncologist said I can't have any hormone therapy cause of the risks. I am not taking anything. It really hasn't been to bad. I am on a catapress patch to help with the hot flashes, it's a blood pressure patch. Other than the hot flashes, it hasn't been to bad. I do get mood swings and sometimes they are bad, but it's better than the alternative. I had my ovaries, uterus and cervix removed. The surgery was a little painful, but so far the menopause hasn't been bad at all like my gynocolgist said it would. Feel free to e-mail me if you want to chat some more about it. Good luck with your decision and keep me posted!
Take care!
