Grandma...what a wonderful attitude you have! I can't imagine what it is like for the both of you to be having treatment at the same time. I shaved my head as soon as the hair started to fall out, then just had a couple of hats I wore. At this site it takes a good four minutes for every post to open on my puter, so I am spending a fair bit of time at www.cancersurvivor.com, where there is a great chat room. maybe we could chat there a bit? Love susan0

Grandma, just wanted you to know that I will be praying for you and that your next chemo is better than the first. Just remember its the only way to kick chemo in the butt !! Even though it may knock us on our butts. Just keep counting down those chemos ! Did you find losing your hair very difficult? I was so much better about it than I had thought, I was told I would be devastated, but actually I looked at it as MY HAIR or MY LIFE ?? and it made it so much easier, now my hair is growing back curly, just as I had heard it may, and I will never complain about a bad hair day again! I hope all goes well with your husbands doctor appt. I will keep him in my prayers also. God Bless you both !! karin0

Dr. said my husband Larry will lose his hair also, so I told him we could be bald together, His chemo isn't making him sick
so that helps, and my son drives us to Dr. when I am not able. that is a great help.
Thank you for the prayers, I pray for all of you wonderful women--------love and God bless

only way to keep going.have to keep strong for Larry. His treatment MIGHT give him a few more months. He has his treatments on Tues. each week and mine are every 3 weehs on Thurs. His doesn't make him sick. so that really helps a lot.
My son will shave my head this weekend, can't stand this hair falling all over everywhere, and my hair is already short, so it won't be to bad --- I hope. love and God bless you.--------Flo/Grandma0 -
Hi Grandma,
I will be praying for you and your hubby as you both continue treatment.I had a friend shave the rest of my hair off once it started falling out. My hubby told me he would shave his his to match me if I wanted him to ,I told him he didn't have to, but I thought how sweet of him and told him so. At about this time last year I was still wearing my ball cap.Glad to hear that you have such a positive attitude. Keep us posted.
God Bless

Dear Grandm and her husband,
As you can see I am dumb founded by the courage it takes to do all you do and yes with an attitude that is to learn from. I only hope that you and your husband know that the strength is there for you and your husband, to move beyond. But the hardest thing to do Grandma is know one has to ask for help, so they too can have the strength to carry on.
You are in my thoughts and close to heart,
Be Good To Yourselves,

thank you Auntie, today my son shaved off what I had left of my hair, My hubby, Larry walked in and told me I am beautiful. I think he is wonderful, as he will also lose his hair soon. I told him we would be bald together.I have to keep reminding myself to keep this attitude, it is hard sometimes, but I talk to God a lot and that helps.unknown said:This comment has been removed by the Moderator

Thanks Tara, I talk to GOD for help, and strength to go on each day, and that helps with the attitude, I have to ask for that at times to. Taking the treatments are the only way I can stay well enough to help my Husband when his time grows near24242 said:Dear Grandm and her husband,

Hi Deb,My son shaved the rest of my hair off today, and offered to shave his also, but I told him no. He is letting it grow and is almost to his shoulders.maud said:Hi Grandma,

It was sweet of your husband to offer. Mine came in when I was getting it shaved and told me I was beautiful. He will be losing his also soon, so we can be bald together, maybe we can find matching hats lol
Thank you for the prayers, am praying for you also. GOD Bless and keep you, love, Grandma0 -
Way to go Grandma. I knew you could do it. I am on 5th of 2nd type of chemo & lost hair twice over now. You get sick of the hats but they are fun. Sooner you get it done with the sooner you get a new head of hair. Talk to you doctor about the side effects you had & they can adjust the treatment & meds to suit so they are minimal. Hope hubby will get good results but I know you are there for each other & that can only make your marriage stronger. Kick some cancer butt. Love & hugs.

Don't know how long it takes to grow back fully as it was just starting to grow in again when I started 2nd type of chemo. Yes unfortunately still on morphine. I have tried to do without but the pain just is too much in my back. I have managed to reduce the dose though. Had a MRI yesterday to see what is happening in my spine as the pain contradicts the reduced tumour marker results. I get 5th of 6 Taxotere tomorrow if white counts are high enough. I was put back a week as they were nearly zero last week so it was too dangerous to give me another dose. Hang on in there Flo. You will be amazed at where you get your strength from at times. As I write this my healing crystal is casting multi coloured prisms over my keyboard & I visualise them healing me. Every positive thought no matter where it comes from is a step in the right direction & every negative one helps the cancer to grow so kick out the negative & welcome in the positive no matter where it comes from.
Love & hugs to you & hubby.
