22 with cancer

i am 22 in my masters program at FSU and also in the FSU circus in a month my world fell abart when i was told i had cancer. they have already done surgery but did not remove it all. my next step is full removal of my cervics i was wondering if anyone has had this done or if anyone else is young and dealing with this,

    i was 33 when my world fell apart. i was in the AF Reserves. I had just gotten back from my weekend tour of duty. I had what is called a radical hysterectomy that is where they remove the cervix, uterous and 1\3 of the vagina. About a year and a half later they had to take my left ovary, I still have my right ovary. I also had to have 6 wks radiation. I am 42 years old now and still hanging in there

    Hi! I was diagnosed just about two weeks after my 27th birthday; about seven months ago. I had a surgical (cold knife) cone in November, which showed the cancer to be advanced and invasive. I had a radical hysterectomy in December, two weeks before Christmas.

    I agree that it's very difficult to deal with this in our 20s. Most people our age have not had to deal with life-threatening situations. We're supposed to be carefree!

    Then there are fertility implications; sexual activity changes; and so many years of wondering if or when it will come back.

    Take care. Do all the research you can and go to the best doctor you available. Get second and third opinions! Investigate all your options and make the best choices available to you. Seek help, from your friends and from professionals.

    I am 26 I had my hysteroctomy April 2 2003. It has been a very tough road to walk along. Ihave no children, and that is probably the hardest part! I have found that having cervical cancer and being in treatmant for it, has given me a new view on my life. I have learned that I am stronger than I thought! Someday I am going to be able to say I'm a survivor!!! It isn't going to be easy getting there I'm sure, but I am going to learn all I can on the way!! Good Luck to you, I will be thinking of you!!
