Hi everyone.
I had a check up yesterday (3 weeks on from last chemo of 6 cycles of Adriamycin) & the news is not too great. My blood markers (CA 15-3) are not good & on the rise again already and pain levels are increasing again. We had hoped for at least 8 month remission but they are talking about more chemo already(CMF this time). They are hoping to be able to put it off until after Christmas to give my body a break but if figures rise rapidly they will have to act straight away. It seems as nothing is going to work for me as the Tamoxifen faied after 6 months- Megace after 3 months & the Adriamycin after 4 months. Still we have a few more chemo types to try before we run out of options. Pray for me please as I am getting really scared now.
Love to all. Pam

    Dear Pam,

I don't think I can say anything to make you less scared because you are such a well-informed, intelligent woman, but as long as there are other chemos to try, there is HOPE!

You will be in my prayers that you will get better news soon and strength. God bless you.

    Love, Jean

Please hang in there and have faith that God will help you through this terrible time. I am glad you left us all know how you are doing, because we are all concerned about you. May God be with you. Hi Pam:
I'm so sorry to hear of your not so good news. I beleive that being afraid is something with which all of us here have become very familiar. It's part of our daily lives with diagnosis and treatment. Yet we manage to proceed with whatever we decide we need to do and remain positive about the outcome. That makes you very special. You've been through a lot and
have found the strength to carry on in a positive manner and I so admire that.

Being afraid as we make that leap of faith, equals bravery. Being unafraid simply equals the experience. Volumes could be written about bravery and cancer (and has been) and many of us on this site could appear frequently in those volumes. Our bravery and strength is shared because we are all in this together. No one of us is ever alone. Sharing our "cyber love and caring" is a wonderful thing and just as real as if we were all there with you.

Try to keep in mind just how many people have survived multiple mets and recurrences.
It's truly amazing what can happen!!!

I haven't any magic, although I wish I did, so consider this a great big warm hug filled
with love, caring and wonderful wishes.

    Love, light and laughter,

    Hi Pam,

You have been through a lot, and you've made it so far, so this is a setback but I KNOW you are going to come out of it stronger. You WILL defeat this illness, I am convinced.

Can you get a hold of this book, or else give me your address and I will be happy to send it to you : "Remarkable Recovery - What extraordinary healings tell us about getting well and staying well", by Caryle Hirshberg & Marc Ian Barasch. It is a wonderful book, and documents quite well how people overcame cancer in different ways.

You are in my prayers, and I wish you strength and serenity through the weeks to come.

    Big hugs,
    Cathy
