What is the youngest age you have heard of someone having chrondrosarcoma? I am currrently 20, but had the disease when i was 18. i know it is typically a middle-aged person's disease...and am curious if there is anyone else out there as yuong as me. any info that you could provide would be greatly appreciated :)

    HI there Brian,
Teddy Kennedy Jr. was diagnosed with a chondrosarcoma in his teen years also and had to have his leg removed. Hes now a practicing attorney and an advocate for people with disabilities. Hes the son of U.S. Senator Edward Kennedy. This was way back in the the 70s and hes still doing well =).

    wishing you wellness

I had chondrosarcoma removed from my left femur when I was 19. I'm now 26 with my first recurrence in the same place - chondrosarcomas happen to everyone at all ages - don't believe everything you read on the internet. I've met many people out there like me. I was diagnosed with chondrosarcoma at age 22. Lost my right leg and hip to it. It seems like there are more people our age getting this cancer than doctors/etc seem to realize--I've met quite a few! Someone already posted about the yahoo chondrosarcoma group, so I'll just second the recommendation. They are a really helpful group of people!
