Loving Support

This is my first time on this site. My husband was told last June that he had colon cancer. They did surgery in Sept, he started Chomo and then they found that he had a spot on his liver. Dec 7th, they were to take out 3/4 of his liver but found that he had not 1 but 2 spots of cancer, 1 on each side of his liver. The only thing that they could do at the time was radition treatment. They sent him home on Dec 10th and on the 13th, I had to have him rushed to our local hospital's ER. His bowel had completly shut down and his heart rate was 145. If it wasn't for our family doctor and the doctor that did the surgery on the colon, my husband would not have made it. My support came not only from our daughters but also my sister's and sister-in-law. My place of employment was a great support and that they gave us enough money so that I could stay home with my husband when he was relased from the hospital. I cannot say enough for all the things these people and our neighbors did for my while I was at the hospital with him. I only hope that everyone who has a loved one with cancer, or who knows someone with this terrible thing, has or can give the sopport that I got. I know that if I hear of anyone that has it, not only me but ny husband will be there for them when ever they need us. Please do what ever you can to give support to someone with cancer. shirley831

Hi Shirley,
I had cancer 2 years ago and also got support from my family, friends, and from the company I work for. You're right, it helps so much to know there are people out there caring for you !
I wish your husband the very best. Is he OK now ?
With a big hug,

I'm in a way like you ,but its not colon cancer.I'm new to this network as well plus new to computer period.I'm a survivor from breast cancer so far 6yrs cancer free.It hasn't come back yet.I got it in march 1995.I would love to help people also, that they can survive.I want to help support somebody to just talk to that they can make it even if they have the big C word.I pray to God few months ago ,I was close to having a nervous breakdown nothing pertaining to cancer other problemns.I sold our home it wasjust to hard on me & my husband .I ask God that I want to help other people who has cancer.Well when we sold our home we bought us a little camper & I bought a computer. That was my answer from God .I never knew they had so many people on internet that deals with cancer.I want to help them that they can make it.maybe my story is not what pertains to you, but i just wanted to let you know support to somebody thats going through cancer or the family members of that person is the medicine for that persons recovery.CHERYL0
