done with chemo
I had my last chemo treatment today. Since November of 2000, I have had four A/C treatments and four Taxol treatments. I am very glad to be done with that phase of my recovery and now will be my encounter with radiation. Thanks to everyone who sent me replies and to those you just read my messages and prayed for me. God Bless you all and I will keep you posted.
Love,
LaVerne

Laverne...YEA !!!! We made it. I am in my 3rd week of radiation. The only hard part of this is holding my arm above my head for treatment, but even that is getting easier all the time as I increase my exercises. Looking back now, it wasan't so bad, was it. But like you, I am soooo glad it is behind me. Keep in touch while you do the radiation. I am not even pink yet, but quit wearing my bra today at the advice of my nurses. Felt very "brazen" leaving the house bra-less this morning, wore 2 shirts to cover up....Love to you, Nancy0

Thanks Nancy, I only hope I can go bra-less too. I am a 42DD and I would need quite a few shirts to hid these babies. I am kinda excited to see what radiation will bring. I will definitely keep in touch.nancys said:Laverne...YEA !!!! We made it. I am in my 3rd week of radiation. LaVerne, I have B-cup boobs (barely.) One really can not tell if I am wearing a bra or not, as long as the fabric in my shirt is heavy. I bought some little tee tops that look kind of like a man's undershirt. They have a narrow band over the shoulder. They work very well under a cotton blouse and are not hot. Warm weather has hit Missouri..finally..I thought it would never arrive. Tell me what lotion your radiatin folks suggest to use. Mine has me using Natural Care Gel. It is greasless and my skin absorbs it quickly. I use it 2 times daily. Once morning and once at bedtime. Ellen told me to use the lotion over my colar bone and into my armpit, and down to my waist. I go a little further and even put it on the other boob...Probaly not necessary, but can't hurt. Do your arm exercises faithfully-they are really important. LaVerne,
Congratulations, you must be so happy. My last treatment of Taxol will be next Wednesday. I don't have to get radiation, but I do have to get herceptin once a week for a year. Like you though I will be so glad to get the big ones over with. Congrats and God Bless!! Luella0 -

sorry it has taken so long to respond but I am still learning how to use this site. I have not started radiation yet just completed my "molding" session and have to go next week for the follow-up to that and if everything goes well, I can start my treatments soon after that. It was really hard keeping my arm up for the hour but I got thru it. I will let you know how everything goes next week. Keep the faith and I will be in touch soon.
