Prayers for a Family

Hi, all!!
Just wanted to relate a rather sad story and ask for everyone's prayers for a family here where I live. When I went in for my second chemo yesterday, my chemo nurse had gone to the lab to take in some tests and came back and told of a 13 year old boy who had had his appendix removed last week. They had just learned Monday that it was cancerous. I know that this is not breast cancer, but my heart just sunk....we all have talked about wanting to cure this monster so that our daughters and granddaughters won't have to deal with it. I was just thinking the other day, if someone has to get this, it is much better that I have it than my children....I can't imagine what it would be like to be the "spectator" in this nightmare when it is happening to your own child---any child for that matter!!! I do not know the family's name, but I know that the boy is just a bit older than my own son and goes to his school. I can only imagine the horror and feelings that they are experiencing....I also know that prayers, even if we can't call the person by name will be heard and the Lord will be there for them....after all, He knows whom we are praying for even if we don't!! That said, thanks for taking the time to pray for these folks....I know that the road ahead for them will be long, as it is for all of us.
I will try to get on the chat after a while, but don't know if I will make it. My chemo yesterday went ok, but now I am tired and feeling a bit nauseated (or is it just hungry?). I am determined to make my 15 year old daughter's swim meet this afternoon, so will probably spend most of the day resting. If I don't get on, please forgive me, but keep me in your prayers that this "pit" I feel in my stomach subsides and that I will be able to be up and about this afternoon. I will try to be on tomorrow about 10:30 AM (PST) if anyone can be there, I'd love to talk!!!
Well, I've rambled on long enough. Thanks for listening and please remember that family in your prayers. Also, welcome to the new ladies!!! I will try to write you all personally ina few days when my "yuk" symptoms have subsided. I decided that if a gigantic headache for a few hours and a day or so of feeling like I haven't eaten (even when I have!!) and/or nausea is all that's going to happen each time....I am indeed lucky!
God Bless you all and have a great day!!!
Hugs and Blessings.....Wendy

Wendy, Tiger here. I will pray for these people, and do the 'naked candle dance' you can read about that in past postings!!
I could not imagine going through this with my kids or even my husband. I know that I was chosen to have this disease because I am so healthy and so strong willed. I was always working and ignoring my family, my husband and I were having troubles and I was always stressed out and angry. I worked in a very stressful job 12-14 hrs a day six days a week. Since last year, even through the ups and downs, the sickness and surgery, I have mellowed out, gotten closer to my family, and my husband and I have reached a point in our marriage that is just so sweet. God knows that I needed something to slow me down, and He also knows that out of anyone in my life, I will be the one to beat this and carry on to look after my family. I have a fatal disease in some peoples eyes, but to me, it is a blessing in disguise. I have never been happier in my life, bald and lopsided at that!!
Keep up the good work and together we will ALL win this battle!!

Hi Wendy, I am so sorry to hear your sad news. I will keep this boy in my prayers and pass his story on to many in my email address book who have kept me in their prayers these past months....I was so surprised to find I was on prayer lists all over the country of people I didn't even know....that is the power of prayer! You too are in our prayers....thank you for sharing your story with us. Take care, Dee0
