Snow in Minnesota

Hey Ellen. You made the news here in New Zealand. They have just shown some great snowfalls & mighty big drifts in Minnesota on our local TV. Wow that looks cold. I thought you guys were heading for spring. We have 30 degrees & sun sun sun (just bragging I know). Have decided to go to Queensland in the middle of the winter for a bit of sunshine when it's wet here. Hope you get some spring soon. LOve Pam

    here in WV, we had temps in the 70's F yesterday with high winds, typical spring ..
    today it is below freezing, snow flurries, still have the nasty wind.(probably the leftovers from Minnesota).
    It is a wonder we aren't all sick all the time from not knowing how to dress for the day.

    why doesn't Queensland get rain in the winter when you do?

    Dear CHer

    They do get rain in winter in Queensland like us but being a bit further north (closer to the equator) theirs falls in big lumps & is soon over (called "The Wet" ) whereas our being more temperate goes on & on & on from July to September (Like Seattle I believe) so lots of NZ 'ers go to Gold Coast in September onwards before it gets too hot in Brisbane. How are your treatments going. Still coping I hope. Love Pam.

    Well, we haven't had snow recently but I think I am going to have to go buy a boat to get around here in TX. It has rained & rained & rained. We will be wishing for some of this come summer time. I looked out yesterday & the fruit trees in the backyard are all bloomed out. I hope we don't get another freeze. Have a good day everyone. Judy

    Hi, all!!

    I live in the Upper Mojave Desert of California--emphasis on desert. Well, we are just about ready to build an ark!! It has rained here for the better part of the last 4 days, with more to come. The snow level gets down far enough to make a covering on the peaks that surround us, but none in town---much to the kids' dismay!! I was born and raised in Wyoming, so I grew up with lots of snow most winters. The rain is nice, but it does get on your nerves after a while. Each time it rains, my husband says he needs to clean out the gutters and down spouts....he hasn't done it yet!! We do get snow in our little desert community once in a while, but it hasn't happened in about 4 years. I laugh, because they usually close the schools for about 1/2 inch of snow!! :-) I thought we were going to have a sunny day, but I see that the clouds have rolled in again. Better go start on the ark!!:-)

    Hi Pam,
    coping OK. right now have a Bov. col. lozenge tucked between gum and cheek on a mouth sore that popped up this morning.

    had blood work yesterday (i week, which has always been fine, it's that second week that seems to be bad)

    not really like Seattle, they have rain any old time.

    Actually that is a lot like us in warm, wet winters. when not really cold enough for snow, and winds blow off great llakes, it rains (or more properly mists and drizzles for days)

    are things beginning to cool off there since your summer should be winding down?

    Dear Cher
    Officially summer ended yesterday but it won't cool down for about 2 months yet. The humidity should get less in the next week or so & that's when I realy like it here. Temperature never drops below 14 centigrade (daytime) here in Auckland & we haven't had a frost on the north shore for 5 years. I like March to May & November to December the best.
