Hi - We are so very happy to have you join our site here. You will definitely find it very helpful. Upon reading your personal page, I find you were diagnosed with BC the same date as I was - May 2000. Did you have a masectomy? That is what I had along with the chemo and am now on tamoxifen also. Are you having problems with the tamoxifen? From what I read, you are at the same point as me.
I am 57 and have grown children and also grandchildren. How is your daughter reacting to this? We can help each other.
God Bless, Lucy0 -
Thanks for the welcome. I did my chemo first and shrunk the 5cm tumor enough to have a lumpectomy. I HATE Tamoxifin. Never expected full on menopause at 36 nor did I expect my 3 year old daughter to say...Mommy are you having another hot flash? My daughter is doing much better now that the chemo is over. It was very traumatic for her. The first AC had me so violently ill she just pounded on the bathroom door crying while I was throwing up. After that we sent her to my parents house each time I had chemo so she could not see it. I don't know about you, but I will never see the month of May the same again.lucy said:Hi - We are so very happy to have you join our site here. You will definitely find it very helpful. Hi Wendy - Glad you only had a lumpectomy - interesting that you had chemo first also. Tamoxifen put you into the hot flashes, huh? I first started with them from the chemo and they remain with me while on the tamoxifen. It would be hard to be 36 and going through this feeling, I understand what you mean. Also, sad to hear what happened with your daughter - they do not expect MOMMY to be sick. She is the caretaker - and the strong one. Very hard for them to understand. I had that problem with my youngest grandchild also. Did you get sick like that with each treatment? Only my first and especially my last one made me feel like that. Yes, the month of May will always be a haunting one for me and so will the year 2000 - glad I never have to re-live it and we have moved on.wensue said:Thanks for the welcome.
