new to group story
Bronchostomy (sp?) couldn't locate as expected. Nest week they are going to look at a lymph node in my neck, but again don't really expect success, just trying to do all prior to surgical lung biopsy.
If cancer, too many, too spread out and/or too small for surgery and radiation. Chemo best shot.
Spirits good, but not as good as last time. Just glad me and not kids!!
Thanks for the ear. Patrick

Hi Patrick. I am a Hodgkins lymphoma survivor. I was diagnosed in 1974. I had a mediastinal tumor, underwent splenectomy, and had radiation. I too am playing the waiting game on diagnosis of second cancer. I developed left arm aching with swelling in arm and hand, aching on left side of chest, and asymmetry of left breast. I had a CT scan which showed an 11mm spot on the right lung, but the couldn't see all the left due to scatter from my pacemaker. Now, I am scheduled for both a mammogram in one week of the left breast and a PET scan in two weeks which will hopefully provide enough info for diagnosis. How are things going Patrick. How did your tests turn out. You know... the treatment we had appears to have done a longer term number on us, but I try not to complain. Keeping up our spirits is the best thing one can do, not only for us, but also for our families. Also, keeping in touch with others here at CSN I find is also good. Keep the faith and keep in touch.0

I had CT Scan where they found several 'clusters' of nodules ranging in size from 2 mm to 7mm for one of the little buggers. I had a bronchoscopy where they tested for 'every inflamatory disease known to man' with no avail. I knew they would have to be lucky to get a piece of a nodule because to small to see in x-ray and florascope. All tests were negative for inflammatory disease. I had a deep in my neck/shoulder lymph taken out. Nothing there. I am scheduled for pet scan on 11-17. Thanksrory said:Hi Patrick. I am a Hodgkins lymphoma survivor. I was diagnosed in 1974. Hey Patrick, let me know how the PET scan goes. I have to have my left breast smashed on 11/15 for a mammogram (not looking forward to that), then the PET scan on 11/21. Thanks! - Rorypatrick said:I had CT Scan where they found several 'clusters' of nodules ranging in size from 2 mm to 7mm for one of the little buggers. I will get back to you on the 17th!! Do they suspect male breast cancer? I am part of about 1% males with 'post menopausal' osteoporosis.rory said:Hey Patrick, let me know how the PET scan goes. They haven't ruled that out yet. Because of my history of radiation for Hodgkins in the past in 1974 when the treatments were more intense, I have a high risk for male breast cancer. On physical exam the Doc didn't feel any lumps, but my left breast is not symmetrical with the right and I am right handed. I also have aching on that side. Thus, she wants to make sure. She says that due to my left arm swelling and the aching in the left chest she is most worried about lung cancer since this is the #1 long term residual of radiation. I was also told I am not out of the woods yet for soft tissue sarcoma or non-Hodgkins. So I wait... I have the mammo on the 15th and see that Doc on the 16th. I will let you know how it goes.
