Vulvar Cancer

I was first diagnosed with VINIII in Nov. 2016 and I've had surgery every year since. I'm a 73 year old widow amd first found it 6 months after my husband died. It continues to come back but my oncologist watches me closely. Only in 2019 did it come back Stage 1. That year I was there in Feb and when I had surgery in June it had already gone to Stage 1. She said it coming back is something I'll just have to deal with. I just had surgery Sept.23 so I've been recovering again. I'm still sore and urinating makes it worse. Anyone here with the same issues?

My mom was diagnosed with Vulvar cancer in October. 3 weeks ago she finished radiation and chemo. She has been so racked with anxiety and depression since finishing treatment. I'm looking for resources where she can speak with a group of people who understands what she is going through. The radiation was such a painful process for her.

I'm really sorry to hear about your mother's struggles after treatment. It's completely understandable that she's experiencing anxiety and depression after such a difficult process. You're doing the right thing by looking for support resources for her. This forum would be more appropriate for her. It's Gynecological other than ovarian.

Many hospitals and cancer centers have nurse navigators who specialize in helping patients access support services. I recommend reaching out to your mother’s cancer center and asking if they have a nurse navigator or social worker who can connect her with counseling and local support groups. They can provide personalized assistance and help her find the right resources.

If not maybe you can find a local group here Support Programs and Services
