Stage 2 BC Triple negative Tamoxifen 8 yrs Uterine lining 22 mm
Started with intermittent discharge in Sept, had a negative pap. Went to a Gyn in Jan , had an US and measured 22 mm. My oncologist took me off tamoxifen right away and asked for a CT scan to be done before the D&C is completed. Waiting on the CT Scan results and D&C is scheduled for next Tuesday.. Wondering what my chances are that this will be cancer, the most difficult part is how to tell my kids……

Welcome mebucco. Waiting is so hard. I guess you know taking tamoxifen can increase your chance of endometrial cancer, as can the thickened lining. But one in 10 biopsies are positive for endometrial cancer, and most of the positive ones are endometriiod type that is slower growing and may not need further treatment after a total hysterectomy. Try and not get ahead of yourself. Keep busy and hope for the best.

mebucco, not much more to add on to what Forherself said there.
Forherself's last line is key, try not to get too far ahead of yourself here. If cancer is found, ask for a gynecologic oncologist to work with. You understand from your history the need to work with a specialist on the topic.
Good luck on Tuesday and let us know how everything goes. Ditton on waiting is the hardest part.

Hi mebucco. Besides endometrial cancer, tamoxifen also increases the risk of non-cancerous conditions such as endometrial hyperplasia and polyps. I'm hoping that you get one of those benign explanations for your symptoms and thickened uterine lining.
Best of luck on Tuesday! Please keep us posted on how everything turns out.
