Pads and chaffing
Three months post op.
About a month ago I switched from the full Depends briefs to the Depends Pads. I am using 2-3 pads a day which aren’t completely saturated when I change them.
However, in the last couple days I’ve noticed the pads seem to be chaffing both sides of my straddle/groin. Anyone else had this problem and how did you combat it if so?

I picked up a stick of Arm and Hammer Friction Defense this morning It’s like a deodorant stick but supposedly for “friction “ Gonna see what that does plus going to try to “air things out” today and see what happens without a pad or pull up while just sitting on the couch in a pair of sweat pants watching the football games today. I hope I don’t piss my pants

Great question, and I'd like to add to it.
I had always been a men's bikini brief kind of guy, except when I had the catheter in after my surgery and for a while afterwards, when I wore loose boxers. What I found over several years of gradually worsening incontinence, where I went from wearing very light shields to medium and heavy-duty pads, is that the weight of big pads when they were getting full, were making them fall away from my body due to the lack of support in my undies. Especially due to my ol' fellas diminished size!
Due to corrective surgery I only leak a little bit now (maybe 15 - 20ml per day) but in the meantime I changed my underwear style. I wear tighter fitting boyleg 'shortie briefs' now, and I have no shame in admitting that. They are much more suitable for my physique and hold any pad or shield that I choose to use, even narrow ones that do not rub against my legs, much more securely. There is no chafing.
Appropriate underwear is the answer.

My husband is 5 months past HoLop procedure with minimal incontinence. He uses Tena pads for men which we order from Amazon @ 144 pads for $45. He says they are very comfortable in his briefs and no one can even tell he’s using them.
He starts radiation next month and hope the incontinence stays at the same level. Fingers crossed0 -
As you said LuckyKGuy, "…going to try to “air things out” is so very important. I do it also, as I when watch a long game, watch a video or more. Legs spread wide open really helps it. Sometimes even using "baby powder" from a drug store, also to make thighs and "hanging" things much dryer. Any experience with that? Any cremes used? Thanks, Jack
