Fulvestrant/Faslodex Missed Dose

Hello,

The last time I had my shot of Fulvestrant/Faslodex was on 11/27/24. The shot date was going to be on Christmas Day, but the office isn't open on Christmas so they made the next dose scheduled for 12/30/24. Meanwhile, I got COVID on 12/20/24, so I canceled and rescheduled for 01/08/25. I rescheduled it again for this Wed 01/15/25. The COVID is getting worse. I don't see how I'll be able to go in on Wednesday. Damned if I do, Damned if I don't. Has anyone else had to constantly reschedule treatment like this? Would it be detrimental to the cancer to push the dose off another week again? Please don't say to "Ask your oncologist" because he's useless. Online research is vague. I started the shot in October 2023, but it doesn't seem to be doing too much.

    Hello

First your chemo is working on your cells for longer than one week so I don’t know about your medicines but skipping a treatment would not mean bad news though better not to skip bc the effectiveness would be reduced.

Chemos are postponed or delayed quite often. Covid, other diseases like flu, sinusitis etc as well as low blood counts... Your oncologist may restart the treatment with a stronger-than-normal dose. These are critical topics that can’t be addressed by me and possibly by other forum users.

If you don’t have good comm with your oncologist then look for another one.
