I completed chemo a couple of weeks ago, when I stand sometimes I feel like I just got off a boat. Is this normal?

Yes, I have this sort of vertigo, too. It was worse during the chemo period, but I still feel that just-off-a boat feeling when I stand, turn, or close my eyes (like when I am standing in a shower rinsing shampoo). My final (hopefully) chemo was mid December.

I believe it is normal meaning part of the scores of possible side effects of cancer treatment.

If I’m not mistaken it’s caused by peripheral neuropathy when the chemo attacks specific cells (younger etc.) and somehow the ear and the vestibular system managing balance can be the target here. I didn’t have any vertigo but oxaliplatin vastly increased my tinnitus likely heading to a major hearing loss so we stopped it.

Taking betahistine helped me so talk to an ORL as it would likely help you. All side effects also better be told to your oncologist.
