This has been the hardest part for me and it sounds as though you are having a similar experience.
Be patient, keep doing your exercises, and trust the process. I am 10 months out and finally happy with my continence.
Hang in there my friend, it takes time for your nerves to get over the shock of surgery and for you to develop the kind of muscular strength you need to make it through the day.

    Hi,

Four weeks out is early in your journey, could take months or maybe a year until you have noticeable improvement. Recovery varies on how much damage was done during surgery so there is no guideline. After I had my surgery I went from diaper type leaking to just a light pad over about a year and then plateaued out. Keep doing you Kegals, I do about a 100 squeezes each day. As jc stated hang in there, you should see gradual improvement over months. You might also want to see a therapist specializing in pelvic floor exercises for leakage. Keep sqeezin away……..

I am ten weeks post surgery and nine weeks post catheter. I have started to notice some incontinence improvement just within the last week. Do the kegels as instructed as they do seem to help. At about 4-7 weeks I was feeling pretty hopeless with the incontinence but it does get better Keep pushing

but it does get better "YES" Sir and get out and walk!!!!

Just some heads up in case any of you are wearing a big pad this is a great product and it's a lot thinner and easy to carry/conceal- remember to peel off the back of the pad for it to stick. Also for the free ballers I just wear a jockstrap it's more comfortable for me.

Hi, John here. I found that if you take extra time to make sure you bladder is completely empty, it prevented leakage right after surgery until you build back your new ability for control. Had surgery in 2019, and recalled this help a lot for me. Doing the exercise and fully emptying you bladder helped me along.
