MSK, Mayo or Sloane? Best Treatment Center
My mom likely has esophageal cancer (waiting on official biopsy) and we are trying to decide the best place for her to go. Does anyone have any advice on the best hospital for treatment? Currently looking at Sloane Kettering, Mayo in MN or MD Anderson. She lives in upstate NY but we are willing to go wherever she will get the best care. I know all of these places are great but any experiences/opinions are greatly appreciated!
Thank you!

I live in Golden Valley Minnesota and I’m getting my treatment at the HealthPartners and Methodist hospital Frauenshuh Cancer. I am getting radiation chemotherapy through this cancer center, however when it comes to getting my surgery done, I am getting it done at Mayo clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Mostly because HealthPartners does not have a specialty surgeon in esophageal cancer on staff and also because my family members closer to Rochester to come visit me after the surgery. When I went for my surgery consult at Mayo Clinic. I was super impressed with Dr. Shin who was going to be doing my surgery. He was very knowledgeable in the field and he is ranked third in the nation for doing this type of surgery, I would highly recommend that you try going there.

I will be doing chemo therapy in Marshfield medical center, Marshfield. We live in Alma Center WI and it's closest for us and the doctor's seem pretty knowledgeable about what they want to do and what is best for me. It started as not being able to swallow and they placed a Stent in my esophagus, so I'm about to swallow alittle better but very painful. I start treatment a week from Friday. Pretty scared.
