Starting Chemo. Told I will be on Testosterone inhibition for the rest of my life.No sex,no passion,no energy,no muscle mass just a blob. I am 73 but was hoping for another relationship before I die but would not put this on anyone else. Not sure I see the point in living liked this. All that I am will be gone . Just a mass waiting for a met to kill me. The person I am will already be dead

Adice - just seeing this thread. Very, very sorry for what you're going through. NEVER would have guessed this would have been the case, given your Gleason scores, which suggested very low risk of metastasis. I'm a Gleason 8 in four of 8 biopsies containing cancer; the remaining four of 12 biopsies were benign. I'm considered high-risk for metastasis, but my PSMA-PET was clean; very fortunate.
Despite from the major health issues thrown at you now, you are in charge of your life. You can decide what treatments (and what side effects) you have and don't have. At age 70, I am considering these too. Best wishes.

Dear Adice,
I am so sorry you are going through this. I know exactly how you are feeling, having been given the exact same diagnosis at one point in my cancer journey.
One thing that I will tell you is that different individuals have very different reactions to hormone therapy. Some manage it quite well. In addition, a responsive and well informed Medical Oncologist can do a lot to help manage symptoms and problems. I am convinced that the better physical condition you are in heading into hormone therapy, and the more you stay physically active during treatment, the less intolerable you will find the therapy.
Hang in there, and don’t give up yet.

I'm sorry to hear of your story and hope the last six months have been better for you.
I haven't posted my own case yet as too early. My first PSA Test at age 81 and 11 months was PSA29.54. I skipped Neurology as I have no Urine or Pelvic problems. My MRI via Siemens 7-Tesla (7T) MRI scanner came out at P- Rads 5. All this has shocked me so far. In late August I had a sharp pain in the right hip that gradually got better leaving me with no symptoms at all. I still do 15,000 steps a day outside of the house. My Biopsy is in less than two weeks.
I feel like a house fixed to the spot as in Ukraine, Gaza, Palestine, and now Los Angeles, waiting for the bombs, Storms and Tempest.

Welcome to the board.
Well. You are not at any of those places you commented above. Let's wait for the biopsy results and then listen to your story and doubts.
I think it better for you to start your own thread.
Best of lucks
VG
