Hello, my mom has been diagnosed with terminal lung cancer with spinal metastasis. She was denied Medicare bc she brings in a little over 1k a month, so that disqualified me for caregiver benefits. I have had to leave my job as I did not qualify for FMLA. I have become her caregiver 24/7. I have my own bills and no income coming in. Her insurance will only pay for a certified CNA to come in and care for her but she has made it clear she only trust me and wants nobody else. Do anyone know of programs that help people in my situation? I have exhausted all options and have come up empty with no help. It's hard enough knowing her time is limited but the struggles of being able to pay my own bills are added stress. Any help/advise is greatly appreciated!

Sorry to hear this. If you live in California, the IHSS program will pay you to be you mom' caregiver. The American Cancer Society has various Hope Lodge locations throughout the country that you can stay at with your mom, when you are traveling for treatment. I will research this subject for more answers, and will post what I find out.
