Good to know! I will ask my PCP about it. So, it may be that I have finished 20 Avastin infusions and have finally reached a toxic level.

My fingers are crossed that it will help. I'll stay tuned for an update.

So, my blood is not carrying oxygen and I ended up in a hospital for four days. It was an oncology floor so the staff was great. Ended up with another transfusion, and they tried to boost my hemoglobin and RBC - it would go up and then fall back down. Sigh. So it looks for now that I have to have oxygen 24/7 and hope that my red blood cells decided to do their stuff and carry oxygen.
Not quite the way I wanted to spend the last four days, but now that I can breathe, I can eat and do stuff.
So ends my update. How's it going with you?

Hi... That must have been so scary, but you were in a good place, and I'm glad you're back home, with or without oxygen. Read up on beetroot juice to boost your red blood cells. It's high in iron and folic acid. It's supposed to be one of the best ways to boost your red blood cell count. You can add carrot juice and Amla. Amla is a powder from India, I think, which you can read about and readily find on Amazon.
All is good on my end. The 20 per cent reduction of Elahere was just right. I havrle had no side effects since. My cholesterol tested high so I stopped my statin. I also don't like to exercise. Elahere poses some risk to the liver and so do stains. I also can't take it with my peripheral neuropathy med. I'm going to discuss it with my primary doc next week about options and he's going to make me go to the gym.
Speaking of cholesterol, one of my friends is coming by with pizza today so that's my cheat of the week.
Stay in touch, wish we could chat. xo

Well, I did try that Beetroot juice! Oh dear, that is vile stuff!!!! LOL, very hard to swallow! But I am out of the hospital and my 02 levels are returning to normal. Wish I could say the same about the CA125 - those are going up, so best guess is that my current chemo protocols are no longer working. Hopefully, my oncologist will have a next step (they are mulling HIPEC, ugh). That's all I have to report.
Glad that your Elahere is working!!! YAY!!!!

Thank you!! 😊
Since the taste was so bad (sorry!) I hope the beetroot juice worked somewhat! Regardless, I'm glad the fire's out and you're back home.
My CA 125 is ticking up the last few cycles. It's at 22 now. Still normal, of course, but it's going the wrong way. I was supposed to have an MRI tomorrow (last was 6 mos. ago) but my insurance denied it. First denial in 2 years. The cancer center is making a peer to peer request. I hate to think Elahere isn't working now. I've been on a reduced dose, so we may try going to a full dose.
All else is good. xo
