PSADT
I finished EBRT/Relugolix in February 2023. My PSA was .01. I am now at .52 (in December). All the calculators I check seem to indicate my doubling time is really low...like 1.6 months. Is this cause for concern?

I gather you had radiation therapy combined with hormone therapy. Is that right?
If so, hopefully your PSA will settle somewhere below 2.0. This may take some time. Keep getting tested every three months.
You can also contact your radiation specialist to see if my prediction makes some sense.

Thanks for the response. I am no so much concerned with the number as I am the speed (duplication time).

Hi,
Over the next several readings look for a trend with your PSA numbers, like Old Salt said hopefully you will settle out on a number and the trend will flatten out.

I can't remember where I read it, but I understand that it is a good idea to use your five most recent results when using a doubling time calculator, or nomogram as they call it. So if you get tested every three months, this will equate to a moving 12 months. Next time you get a test, include it in the calculation but drop off your oldest result, etc.
This is the one I use: Prostate Cancer Nomograms: PSA Doubling Time | Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (mskcc.org)

Thanks I had not read much about what "should" be included in calculating DT, so I appreciate that. I imagine my doc is going to say let's wait for another blood lab to decide about that.

So my doc has said we should get another reading in 6 months this time. He said the spike is "expected and not concerning." So...there you go. Thanks for all your feedback!
