As a result I have been on several immunosuppressants including metho trexate tablets , high dose prednisone , methotrexate injections and for several years cyclosporine twice daily. All of these medications make you sun sensitive and prone to skin cancers. The skin specialist searched high and low but was only able to find one small lesion on my right shin. He did not even think it was a cancer but ,with me, he has a policy of when in doubt ,rip it out. I have no problems with that attitude, He also said with age 70 rapidly approaching , come in every six months. Suits me fine, Ron.

    That is great news, and you are right, you might as well just take the thing away as you are there anyway.  Any news on those fires as I've not heard anything in a week and rely mostly on you to let me know the specifics of the situation.  Continue to do well, my friend.

    More homes and wildlife and stock in areas around the ACT and along the alpine way heading to the snowfields . Fortunately no more people have died but they have not yet been able to evaluate property loss. It is a no win situation you either backburn the country to lower the fireburden to save people or you take a precautious approach to save wildlife. It is a sad predicament. People rightly say that they must be put first. The trouble is when the last animal of a species goes you can't go and buy anymore. Humans are not yet an endangered species but when all of the other species are gone are we next in line? Ron.

    Congratulations on 22 years NED! That is good news. Sorry the treatment left you with lingering health issues and you are in the midst of the devastation of the wildfires in Australia. Here's to 22 more years. Enjoy your retirement.

    Good to see you are still around. Retirement should offer you some respite from medical stuff. At least you will be able to make appts for any time that pleases you. Now if only retirement came with a huge influx of cash...

    There is no words for such loss.  I'm not sure if it's true or not, but watched something on TV the other day how they were taking a lot of the animals and putting them in a sanctuary someplace, especially the ones there were a species of very few.  It's good to hear of no more life lost.  Just know that there are a lot of people out there praying that it gets better soon.  Thanks for the update.

    We can't win

    Now most of the east coast from  Bundaberg in Qld down to the Victorian border are being hammered by an intense east coast low. The Syney area received aalmost a years supply of rain in 2 days on the weekend. They hope it will extend to the Gippsland area and put out some of the fires still burning in inaccesible areas. It is washing a lot of toxic residue into creeks and rivers andcusing treefalls and landslips in some of the burned areas. Ron.

    Hope you enjoy being retired!!  I have been retired over 20 years(I'll soon be 88) and like being able to do whatever i want every day.

    I am new to this site. I am inspired and determined by Ron and in desperate need to find other chemo drugs to help my sister with SRCC. Her oxaliplatin, 5 FU, and Irenotecan worked for 6 chemo cycles but now she is finding new skin lesions and in more pain. Her doctor thinks this chemo is not working and wants to try Taxol in her next cycle. Anyone out there, have any ideas ? I am going to mention this "Keytruda" and see what he says.
