Ron50?
Hi all, I haven't been on in quite a while. I'm at a point where my emotions run very high coming on the board. I had to stop taking anti anxieties, they were ruining my brain. That meant avoiding triggers. I wouldn't say what I am now is "back to normal" but I don't think about cancer night and day like I used to. I've had whole days where I don't think about it at all. The ostomy has become something completely separate in my brain. I'm on here looking for Ron50. He's such a trooper. I see he hasn't signed on since February.
I also am incredibly saddened to hear we lost JanJan. She was a superstar=(

I'm going to try to figure out his real name. It's 2020, we really should say who we are and where we're from if we want to. I know he's from Australia.

Did you try sending him a personal message via CSN? I know that he checks in when he hears that people are asking after him.
Last I heard, he had retired - finally - and I hope he is out there fishing and enjoying his life.

That would be ideal. I'll send him a message thanks. I can't believe I wrote this in July. Time is just flying on me lately. I'm working and taking care of my mom and the weeks just fly by.

Hi Kim that picture of you is so lovely! That dress really is a nice pattern for your face. Really brings out your smile and eyes.

I always appreciate seeing a post from you, and still glad to hear that you are doing well. Several times I've tried to contact Ron and I've sent him personal messages, but I've still not heard back from him. Last that he posted was right after the terrible wild fires that went through his area, but know he was ok and out of danger. It has been so long since I've hear from him that it makes me worry. He didn't post as much as he did at the beginning, but it has been too long. Hope we get to hear from him soon. Take care, and please pop in now and again and give us an update.

CSN
I have had some VERY helpful CSN staff look for our missing members. But the last time I reached out to them, looking for Joan M, I was told they could not offer any assistance because of privacy. Of course, I think that is rubbish - I would say 'absolute rubbish' in my best English accent. It is not as if we are asking for address and telephone number, a full name so we can look through obituaries - which is sad, but that is how we have found previous members. I had one lovely CSN staff member who did some serious research and found the obit of a member.
Anyway, if we all sent a message to CSN, maybe one of them will take a look for us, as I believe they have the information that we need to at least research the web.
I was never able to find Lou Swift, and I've looked for years, even though I KNOW in my heart he passed.
Along with Ron, I worry about Joan M. It has been a full five months since we last heard from her.

Ah, Ron and JoanM.
It is Joan M's birthday next week, but I will not be posting a greeting. Her last post indicated the Cancer had spread to the brain, and we haven't had many members here - if any, who have survived brain mets. I'm not sure if you know that our dear Mojo, who also had brain mets, passed away during the summer.
Ron had MANY post treatment issues, and as you say, was advancing in his years. I pray he is still around, but......
We will just leave it at that, then.

Hi all, I'm now Ron 72 not Ron50. I'm still in Australia and still alive. I'm out to 25 years still with no recurrence but all the other problems that plague long termers. I still have regular scopes though the last few years they don't want to do them. The last scope I had was 2018 which produced four polyps between 4 & 14 mm. The gi said I was lucky to get away with it and should have a scope every two years. The hospital does not agree and i am fighting with them at the moment. It seems to me that in a lot of countries once you reach seventy they don't seem to care if you live or die. Hugs to everyone who remembers me and all the new sufferers Ron.

RON! Oh my goodness, man, you have been away too long and we..... well, you know, we thought the worst, when we couldn't track you down - and believe me, there were many of us who tried to track you down.
So, you are alive and kicking. Still fighting, regardless of 25 years NED. It is a never ending battle, and I am so happy to see you winning, polyps or not.
If only we could find a way to keep in contact outside this forum; maybe a member we trust enough to have as a contact. At the end fo the day, we're all going to 'disappear', and it is so hard, the not knowing.
Take our friend, Mojo. She promised us her daughter's would let us know when her time had arrived, yet they had other concerns, and it took a forum member to do some serious detective work, to find her.
Anyway, I rattle on. Just so happy to see you are still among the land of the living.

Today is 22nd of Jan2023. I had my operation to have my cancer removed on this day exactly 25 years ago. Since then i have had serious kidney problems and three kidney biopsies have not shed any light on my problems . I fially achieved a remission of sorts after seven years on cyclosporin.I have had some heart problems that they think is due to 5Fu which is quite cardio toxic. I had 48 sessions of chemo. I also spent three years on warfarin due to cardiac flutter and suspected atrial fib. I seem to have survived it all and now my major issue is severe neuropathy from the waist down. Life goes on no matter what gets cut out, or stops working. Cheers Ron. (a work in progress).

RON!!!! So glad that I came on tonight and found this post. You're my hero man. You just keep on trucking. I am 54 today! Didn't think I'd get go say this. Read that you retired, good on you! I hope you're catching lots of fish. Governments suck. So do jobs. I lost mine after 28 years and I'm in no shape to start over. Just doing my best day to day. I'm so glad you're still on. Changing your name was scary. Don't do that again. Lol
