Hormone Replacement Therapy

Surgery and radiation do not bother me, but I am concerned about being put on hormone replacement therapy. I am not used to taking any meds and it seems like the only resources I can find are people talking about the bad side effects from taking it. Anyone not have any bad side effects, or it is just common to expect side effects? Any suggestions or referrals on a particular one would be greatly appreciated as I go to talk to my oncologist this week. Thanks!

As I am reading your post, I am contemplating mastectomy vs. lumpectomy with radiation. Not to sound scary, but I would be concerned over the long term affects radiation will have on your lungs. I would like more information on that if anyone has been through it a while ago. My doctor suggested Arimidex. He said 80% of the patient's at his facility take that. ALL medications have side effects included a small chance of edometrial cancer.

I had a lumpectomy and am having a Savi Brachytherapy today where I only have to go for 3 radiation sessions since this involves only radiating the interior cavity from which the cancer was removed. Then I will be on Arimidex. Hoping for minor side effects as I don't take any other medication.
