Six Month Follow Up - Kidneys ok, however..
I had my six-month scan today and both kidneys are great (2015 5cm mass in left, had a partial neph, 2021 2cm mass right, had a partial neph). Unfortunately it was discovered the lymph nodes between my lungs are swollen, and I'm waiting on a call to schedule an appointment at a lung clinic.
I don't know what I'm facing. I'm trying very hard not to google. The fear is overwhelming. I don't know how I will feel tomorrow, but today I need to allow myself to cry.
Update: Got the call, appointment is tomorrow morning. Going to be a sleepless night.

It has been a very stressful couple of weeks. The specialist said we were looking at three different possibilities--metastatic kidney cancer, a new cancer, or something else (which was a wide open category). I had the biopsy, and while waiting for those results, I read the full CT report, which said it was lymphoma. I thought, ok, this was not there six months ago, so it is fairly new--I pretty much began to make a plan to deal with it. Went to the appointment for the biopsy result, and it turned out to be negative for cancer! It's sarcoidosis, treatable with prednisone. Talk about relief!
Thank you for your well wishes, I sincerely appreciate it! :-)

Hi GiGi5,
I'm Kidney_Cancer_Kid. I know about fear about getting test results. That fear is normal and you are in the right place. There are caring people here who help a lot with all concerns.
On the outcome of the tests, "Great result!" I love that it is treatable. Congrats! Celebrate, relax, and celebrate again or whatever you feel like doing after this news.
