0.7 Ground-glass Nodule
I'm newly diagnosed (vis CT Scan) with two lung nodules. One is 0.7 cm ground glass in lower left lobe. The other is described as 0.4 juxtapleural in right lower lobe.I also have curvilinear atelectasis or scar in the lingula. I'm 75 and I've never smoked or had cancer. I did have pneumonia in 2018 and I have a lot of nasal mucus problems with constant drainage.
I'm pretty concerned about this and have made an appointment with a pulmonologist but I can't get an appointment until April.
I'm trying to educate myself...and calm myself down with information.
I found the Fleischner Criteria and, other than my age, my risk seems low. I found the Brock and Mayo Clinic calculators and they put my risk at 3 to 5 %.
I am worried about that ground glass nodule, though. I would be grateful for any information you can give me (or point me to) and any personal experiences you can share.
Thank you.

Hello,
I had non-small cell lung not a good diagnosis (it spreads throw the body quickly) but because my Primary Care was watching me closely I was diagnosed early Stage 1 A. I was referred to the best cancer people in Central NY. I had a lower right lobe removed December 9 2020 and 4 rounds of Chemo starting in January and ending March 2021. Ground glass is not always cancerous. It can be due to an infection. I had ground glass in my left lung region and given an antibiotic the ground glass disappeared.
I am 62 years old and my lung cancer has been in remission for almost a year. Remission in: April 14, 2021 and it is now April 9, 2022. Cancer never goes away it just hides until it rears its ugly head again
