Throat cancer?

My throat has been like this for awhile (first noticed in august) but I chalked it up to dental problems. I also have swollen lymph nodes.

    I'd say you should get to your PCP ASAP for a referral to an ENT, because swollen lymphs are one of the signs of H&N C. Was with me, and quite a few others.

    No matter what I agree 100% with Logan You need to see an ENT immediately. He can quickly sort out what is going on. It is not cancer till they say it's cancer so don't think the worst. You may have something else going on that is causing this. It could even be a simple infection and need a round of antibiotics. Either way, get to an ENT and they will look around and feel around your neck and head area possibly and if necessary they will scope you. The scoping is where they put a flexible sort of wire in your nose with a camera on it and they can see everything going on inside and down into your throat and vocal cord area. It is somewhat uncomfortable but not bad if you relax. I have had many as well as others on here and I still see my ENT every 3 months and have it done during my checkup.

    As Russ says, don't assume Cancer unless you hear it. Lymph nodes swell in response to immune reactions to a number of things.

    (But - you're very smart in getting it checked as soon as you could...)

    Glad to hear you are getting checked-out so soon. Do not be surprised if they do a needle biopsy. I had done on my first ENT visit. Don't worry about having it done- was no big deal to me, physically, so it's nothing to be antsy about.
