PET scan and feeling better in chemo
Hi all
the oncologist wanted a new ct scan prior to starting chemo (one month later from initial scan) and a nodule not mentioned in scan #1 had tripled in size to 9mm. He sent me to a specialist who is sending me for a PET scan. I am happy to be getting this as it is very rare in Canada - but that makes me worried at the same time.
also, after 2 rounds of chemo i am having normal stools for the first time in well over a year - is that an indication the tumor is shrinking? (Couldn't do surgery first due to size).
any experience would be appreciated!

Hi there, are you in Ontario Canada? ( I am aswell )
I would think that normal bowel movements is a positive thing forsure - the nodule you mention where is it located? Is it solitary?
I had a complete response in my colon to chemo, surgery wasnt even required - only scar tissue remain and biopsies in the area confirmed no cancer detected! So it is possible

I am being treated at Humber River and I am so amazed at the care. I won the Dr lottery!

Oh my goodness yes!!! Dr Gautam Sudan at Humber River. He is about 40 yrs old, so smart and easy to talk with. Explains everything, open to every question - I thank God every day - I had cancer 11 yrs ago snd was treated at Sunnybrook - worse hospital and doctors had zero tolerance for questions.
the difference is amazing!
