I’m new to discussion boards but I really need to talk with others who have gone through nasal sinus radiation. I have been nauseous with headaches since I’ve started. I’ve had 21 treatments so far and it’s only getting worse. My doctor is saying that my radiation will not cause nausea. He is saying it’s either anxiety or I have something else going on like giardia in my digestive tract. Has anyone else out there had nausea with sinus radiation?

    lgb123,

I had Base of Tongue cancer, surgery first followed by Radiation, no Chemo. I had some nausea along my treatments, not every day but at least once a week or more. I did use room temperature Ginger Ale to calm my stomach down at first. I then went and got some Coke syrup or Cola syrup at my local Pharmacy and it is over the counter. It worked for me. I hope this may help you.

Ask your doctor about Dronabinol. I couldn't handle the constipation issues from Zofran and all its nasty partners. Dronabinol is made from marijuana. It'll increase appetite as a wonderful side effect. Trust me, this works. It comes in 5mg round pills. Dose up in 5 mg increments until the desired effect is reached. There is also a nice pain relief side effect as well. I used it through week 5 of treatment and have returned at week 7 when I could swallow again.
