6cm mass found in lung
I haven’t been diagnosed yet but a 6 cm mass was found in my right lung plus additional suspicious nodules. Anyone here have such a large mass.

I did! They found two tumors - one in my lung one in the mediastinum, (PET Scan showed lymph node involvement as well), and both were over 7cm. Thanks to a combination of Immunotherapy (Keyruda) both tumors shrunk by 70% in less than three months. Unfortunately, because the tumor was in my chest I was not a surgical candidate, so 8 more weeks of chemo and radiation *daily - it sucked) they shrunk even further. Just had surgery and not so great news they couldn't cut out the one in my chest,, but the oncologist and I are working together to find a treatment that will keep working AND that I can do while working Hang in there, and accept that your not "Superman/woman" That was the hardest thing for me to accept -- that the first few treatments knocked the sh-t out of me (it was every three weeks),,, but every third week I had a good week and kept active. Eben twenty Kayaking in the Atlantic with my teenager Please find an oncologist you truly like and trust! That is key and ** don't be afraid to stand up for yourself and ask questions,,, YOU COME FIRST. I started as their biggest pain in the tush,, but now the office staff calls me just to say hello -- they are like another family and that trust and concern keeps me going. Good luck !! you're gonna do great :)

Dear Pamela
Thank you for taking the time to respond to my post. Hearing your story last night prior to me getting some of my results today has given me hope. I do have cancer and because all the results are not back I am not able to have a treatment plan. However the doctor was so positive about all the possible treatments available.
You have made me feel less alone and ready to fight to regain my health again.
I wish you all the best in your continuing recovery.

I just found out about an 8.8cm mass in my right lung and other problems in my lungs. Pretty scary. Waiting for call backs from specialists to get a CT, PET scans and all the diagnosis stuff. Researching now. Taking time by myself in the morning to pray and feel and cry, whatever I need to do to get to work on this and life too. Started the patch to quit smoking. Feel so guilty and disgusted with myself when I break down and smoke. I only know to try again in the morning. My family is supportive but scared and processing in their own way. All of us just waiting.

How are you doing? I was given not such great news My rumors ended up being inoperable but like you said, my doctor is so frickin optimistic. He said we just have to look at this as a chronic disease and there’s no reason I can’t live another ten years or more on chemo. So, hey. Stay positive, only allow positivity near you, and do what you can to stay alive with a quality of life. That’s all we can do :). Again. I hope you are doing well. The beginning and the unknowing is the worst part!

Hi,
Thank you for reaching out to me. I will be going for my first chemo treatment on Friday. I am hoping that like you I am able to treat this like a chronic disease. Thank you for the positivity, I can’t tell you how much that means to me especially someone who is in similar footsteps.

Hi! Your story inspired my brother not to give up and continue treatment. So far, his tumors are in the initial stages of development, so he undergoes chemotherapy from time to time as needed. Our therapist said that it is very important to saturate the lungs with oxygen and walk more at this stage. Therefore, my brother goes to respiratory therapy (content removed by CSN). I hope that your example will support many people with a similar diagnosis. Take care of yourself and take care of your health, even after recovering. Thank you for sharing your story.

Hi. How are you doing? Unfortunately most tumors in the mediastinum are not operable but with chemo targeted therapy and Keytruda they are no longer a death sentence ! Hang in there you are not alone. I’m starting my third round of treatment in less than a year after the failed surgery and now I even know how to tolerate the treatments. (Well the best I can. Haven’t lost a hair in my head yet either LOL). Theo time around I am working full time and earned a new position with a huge raise! It keeps me focused! Let us know how the PET scan goes!! Again you’re not alone!!

Hi
Checking in to see how you are doing. I have had 3 rounds of two chemos and now on one for maintenance. Unfortunately until my next scan I won’t know how well Chemo has worked. I do know that once I get thru Chemo I have been feeling better with more energy. I am not a candidate for keytruda due to the dna of my tumor. I am hoping I can get on targeted therapy again with taking a pill
On this current treatment I am not able to work outside of my home. The Chemo keeps me weak for almost two weeks. I am fortunate that until June I have been allowed to work from home Thank goodness I decided to work again because it has helped keep me focused as well
I hope you are still feeling well and you are enjoying you new job. The pay raise must certainly help with this inflation.
All the best

I am doing pretty well. Thank you for asking! My CT taken 3 weeks after treatment ended showed it decreased in size by 2/3. I was a little disappointed that it wasn’t gone. I’m hoping it will be gone on my next CT in July.
I am noticing a stronger textured hair on my head. Not just the soft fuzz. I am so ready to get hair back!
I am feeling better every day. I am starting to get back into my regular activities like cleaning, shopping, cooking, etc. it feels good getting back to normal!
I hope you are doing well and enjoying Spring!

I was recently diagnosed with lung cancer with a Ros1 mutation. I was told that I have no cure but I can be on chimo to try to shrink the tumor. At first the tumors were found on my right lung recent scan shows that it spreader to my left side. I might have a couple procedures in the future because my PET SCAN shows it in other areas. I am only 33 years old in fact today was my birthday! I never smoked or worked in an environment that would cause me to get cancer in my lungs but the mutation in my blood didn’t care. I am lost of words for my family especially my two babies. I pray that a cure is found for my mutation one day soon so young mothers could enjoy everything I am going to miss out on..

Hi Maribel,
I wish I could give you information that would help but sadly I cannot. We can pray that cure is found while you're still around! 🙏 And I will. My thoughts and prayers are with you, your family and those that love you. I know it's tough but I pray that you can enjoy the moments, hours and more, until that cure is found...
