EAR PAIN

Good morning and hope all is well with my CSN friends.

I have been having some ear pain lately. it is the ear on the same side as my surgery, and the pain only lasts maybe 10-20 seconds, but can be very intense. It seems like it is in my ear canal, not too very deep inside.

My jaw is always sore, and wonder if it might just be radiating pain.

Thanks

It's less intense for me. Where is your jaw sore? my "hinge" is only sore once in a while - the knot midway between my ear and chin is usually sore.

Had this same thing, no surgery, but had it during treatment. Was described to me as referred pain. After everything settled down post-treatment, it went away.

    Ditto!
Same with me. Blockage due to hardened ear wax after radiation. Also tinnitus & my ear seem's blocked most of the time. Never ending side effect's after treatment.

    Ear Pain
I have this almost every day. Sometimes it is annoying and sometimes, it is crushing. My ENT tells me it is not my ear that hurts, but it is referred pain. Since I lost quite a bit of muscle from my right jaw during surgery, my docs' think that I have TMJ disorder plus some nerve damage. The pain can be in my teeth, my jaw, my tongue, my throat, or the ear. I am trying nerve blocks and various pain killers. It sucks. I wish you well and I hope they are able to get your pain under control.

    EAR PAIN
Thanks for the replies. My wife also thinks it is referred pain from my jaw.

I see my ENT next week for an exam, so I will mention it then. I hate the few days before scans and or exams, as any little thing that aches or does not look right I worry about.

    "love the new norm"!!

But it could also be allot worse.

    Have a great weekend!!
