NED after 7 years

To be honest, doctor officially stopped requesting any follow-ups after 3 years NED. Considered him cured. But this forum showed us that word “cured” should be used with great caution. So until 5 years husband was doing annual abdominal ultrasound and chest x-ray on his own initiative (it is very cheap in our country and he also has medical insurance which covers everything if family doctor gives prescription. And she always does :-)

And after 5 years NED husband started skipping yearly checks and doing them biannually. So now, after being 7 years NED, he will most probably continue biannual follow-ups on his own initiative (well, on my initiative, I force him to:-) until 10 years post-surgery at least.

I’ve read all I ould about Stage 1 recurrences. I understand that after 5 years chances are veeery slim, but not zero. So it seems biannual checks are prudent up to 10 years at least. But as I said, it costs peanuts here. I’m under impression that it is much more expensive in other countries and not so easy to afford unleast doc demands it
