Almost 6 year follow-up and found cyst

So I went today to get my follow up done .  I will be 6 years in

January.  Looked in portal....Chest xray good, thyroid good,

but ultrasound

reads "right midsole parapelvic cyst 1.7 x 1.1 x 1.0 cm".

That's since last January. Needless to say I'm scared again.

Have to wait to hear from Dr.

Anyone else have a cyst?

    I do

My left kidney was a full nephrectomy and they show a cyst on my right kidney.  Freaked me out completely...but the doc said that cysts are common.  He said cysts are like freckles...people get them in all different places, some people have only a few, some people have a lot. But clear cysts (which mine is) are common and benign.  I'm not sure that yours is the same as mine but I wouldn't worry just yet.

I have a few simple cysts in

I have a few simple cysts in my left kidney.  Just checking Dr. Google (I know, I know, I shouldn't do that) and every website I've seen says that the type of cyst in your report is a simple cyst.

When they did my original ct

When they did my original ct back in July...the one that found my tumor....i also had a cyst on my other kidney. Just said small cyst. When they did another ct at the beginning of oct at the ER to find out why I was in so much post surgical pain the comparison showed the cyst was compressed and gone with just a small spot where it used to be. So it's possible it's  something that may come and go.

    Def scared me

Thank you made me feel better :) I would like a CT to verify that's what it definitely is.  This was

On an ultrasound and my initial tumor was

Never seen on the ultrasound.  I had pain so they did a CT and that's

How it was found.  So I'm not comfortable with just US.

    :)

Thank you that makes me feel better! Just scared because it's

the same kidney.   I was told last January that I was cancer free.

I insisted on this one and glad I did.  I will never stop the followups.

    How

Big are yours?  I was surprised that in 8 months since last ultrasound

It appeared and is 1.7 cm already. Wonder if they can grow fast?

Mine are quite small and in

Mine are quite small and in the opposite kidney.

I'm going for my first appointment to a Survivorship program in about six weeks.  I'm going to see if they can swing an annual ultrasound with my insurance company.  Besides the kidney,I have a history of twisted intestines and both my father and paternal grandfather had aortas aneurysms, so I got a lot going on down there I would like to keep tabs on.

    Don’t worry yet

I had a tumor and a cyst on my kidney cyst is a common thing so just relax until you talk to doc I'm sure it's just a cyst so try and relax

    Oh, cysts are veeery common!

Oh, cysts are veeery common! My husband has one in kidney and some small ones in liver. And ultrasound is very good in distinguishing cysts from solid tumors. Cysts are fluid filled, and ultrasound "recognizes" this fluid easily.

Also sometimes things "pop up" on scans, then "disappear" on next scans... It doesn't mean that they really appear/disappear. One radiologist told me that there is no consensus among radiologists whether they should always report things wich are clearly benign and of no clinical significance. So some radiologists can ommit the clearly benign small cyst in description, others may put it in. This is what happended to my husband's liver cysts :-) Also made me feel that perhaps some mets poped up... Nope, were always there, just not mentioned in couple of previous reports :-)

    No worries for cysts, Daisy!

    Great news! Ultrasounds

Great news! Ultrasounds distinguish simple fluid filled cysts very well. So if all docs see cyst - then it is cyst :-)

    Late to the party

Sorry, Daisy--I've been absent a few days.  Glad to hear the news about it being a simple cyst.  I, too, have a simple cyst in my kidney that didn't have my tumor.  As you know, doctors aren't concerned about these.

    My 2 cents

I have several cysts in various organs: remaining kidney, pancreas, and remaining part of liver.  As long as they stay a cyst they are OK.  And they can enlarge.  Let the tests and the reader of the CT do the work; kick back and celebrate Trick or Treat.
