First 3-Month Check-Up All Good!
Good news on my first official check-up with my gynocologist oncologist this morning!
While I had a pelvic exam check-up by the radioation oncologist a month ago about 6 weeks after brachy ended and he said all looked good, that exam caused me so much discomfort that I was terribly anxious about my exam and labs today but she was gentle and it was easy. Not sure if that is a result of progressing from dilator #2 to dilator #4 and every day use or the doctor or both.
Only think is that I have another UTI. I had one after brachy ended 2 & 1/2 months ag and di a round of antibiotocs but he didn't have me retest. Maybe it neevr cleared up. I really had no sysmpotoms though so started AVO and will pick up Bactrim to start tomorrow.
I have been dieting and exercising and have lost 15 pounds since my surgery 4 months ago and my sugar and cholesterol were the best they have been in years.
My CA125 dropped from 21.9 on 5/28/21 to 12.9 today.
I know it's only the first check-up with many more to go every 3 months for the next 2 years but somehow this one had me really stressed.
She wants me to scheule my colonscopy which I was due for a few months ago before I fell down this rabbit hole and I am also going to get a baseline bone density test.
The NP suggested trying a vaginal mositurizer with hyaluronic acid which I had also read about in a study.
The GO said I looked great and she also thought the pelvic floor therapy had helped.
It's good to have good news and I feel like I can breathe at leats for the next 3 months!
Thanks all for your support.

Great news
It is so hard to attend these checks, but congratulations. At 3 years I finally relaxed and didn't feel anxiety walking into the room where I was told I had cancer. I am so happy to hear you have reached this milestone!

Great news!
So glad your first 3 month exam went well. Not only in what you were told, but how it went. :-) A big relief for you, I'm sure.

Congrats on the good news.
I am so glad this went well for you! I had my first 3 month post radiation checkup with gyn oncologist on 10/8 and he said everything looked good, too. The exam was comfortable. I have been using the small dialator regularly. I asked about blood tests but RN said they were not needed. Amother RN told me previously the CA125 was not pertinent to my stage IIIA endometrial cancer. I am confused by this. I have a follow-up with the radiologist on 11/30 and my next 3 month with gyn oncologist in January, where a scan will be ordered. I am trying to live in confidence between these 3 month visits. Blessings to you.

Checking in
Didn't want to start a new thread but this one looked appropriate. First off Woodstock great news on the check up! I know these are sources of great concern and anxiety for everyone but I can offer a different perspective that I have seen expressed here before.
I have been on my immunotherapy drug since June--dostarlimab. It seems to be holding me stable but I haven't had a scan since mid August, which was the first one to show positive outcomes. Although my large lung tumor growth slowed they still seem to be growing; and my med oncologist thinka the largest one against my left lung chest wall is causing a great deal of back and chest pain which I can mitigate largely with Tylenol and Aleve and maybe an occasional oxycodone pill. I consulted with the radiation oncologist a week ago who wanted an ASAP PET CT to get current status and see if SBRT is an option to shrink the larger tumors. So I am eager for the scan. It is next Friday--I guess that's what ASAP means in nuclear medicine! I know there is a chance I will not see good news but I feel good and think I'm at least holding stable. But knowledge is power so even if it isn't good I will know where I stand. I feel much more confident about the future of treatment if I have to stop immunotherapy--there are other options and sometimes it does just keep you stable for a while even with no infusions.
I get more nervous without scans although I did express some concern to the RO about all the radiation exposure and he said to me "that's the least of your concerns now." I have to agree with him. I'd get a scan every month if I could. I'm now on the 6-week cycle for dostarlimab infusions and it feels odd not to be getting blood test results every 3 weeks, looking for CA 125 numbers to come down (from 287 to 54). I am living with cancer so always want to keep an eye on it. My lungs sound clear and the RO told me "you look better than your last CT scan does". Had to laugh and take that as a positive sign.
So for all of us stressing over those periodic scans, knowledge is power.
Love to all,
Deb1

Oh, Deb Deb!
I think you are about as courageous and logical about the rigamarole your body is putting you through as you could possibly be.
SBRT? I know the last two letters mean radiation therapy, right? short beam? slow beam?
Next Friday....a week to go to figure out what's next, and another "perspective" comment: remember when "we" first got news, how we wanted to know everything immediately, even if the knowledge wasn't comprehensible entirely? A week is now a deep sigh and the knowledge that yes, medicine isn't quite as fast as possible, really, but you are holding steady, and a week is pretty darn quick in oncology terms.
I'm very sad to know you are having bad pain. You aren't much of a complainer, so it must be pretty bad. Worried for you, 2! Keep us well updated. Don't hesitate to start your own thread next week, or this week, and let us in on all the news about you.
"You look better than your last scan." No doubt you do. You're an athlete, and have a young face. That said, what an interesting turn of phrase. I think I may have felt both complimented and a bit unnerved, as you no doubt did.
I'm here following your posts with great care and concern for you. I'm also very happy for Woodstock.

SBRT
Stereotactic beam radiation therapy/treatment. Very precise, high radiation, almost 3-D. I think it can be used on up to 5 tumors at a time. I have been hesitant about radiation in the lung area but if those little SOB tumors are going to keep growing I feel I have to do something. Best outcome of scan is that everything is responding now and we do a wait and see. Worst would be that new stuff has popped up. I'm concerned about upper abdominal nodule. Doctors are funny. I asked about that one and since I'm not having trouble eating she says we'll leave it alone for now. So be it. I'm ok with using my body's signals for now but sometimes it's slow to signal!
Thanks Deb2! We all have our own fears and hopes. If I was told at one point my cancer was gone I would probably enter the 3-month checks with much apprehension. As it is, I look forward--mostly--hoping to hear that dostarlimab is working for me. Still lots of unknowns since it's so new.
Hugs to all!

May 10/29 be a Good News Friday for you!
Deb 1,
You have gone thru so much already and with such courage. I am humbled by your tenacity. My hope joins with yours that dostarlimab treatment has succeeded in shrinking the tumors. The SBRT treatment sounds very hopeful as well. ((HUGS))
