tightness in chestjrjoanofarc said:Feeling so tight in the chest
I would like to hear from someone who understands and had the tightness in the chest. Like the skin is pulling!
I just got my steri strips off and the dr. said to use lotion. It helps to an extent. When will this feeling subside and should I go for therapy?
Any help would be appreciated !!
Hello! I am one year plus one day from my mastectomy. I realize this is a while since you posted but I just joined. How are you doing? I am a weaver of sorts so I was used to using my arms so after surgery I started small arm stretching exercises . I remember that each week it got easier. I started slow and then increased my workouts. Even now, on occasion I still feel a tightness, but then I resume my stretching and it does go away. I hope you are having success with this issues. oh, I found some weekly yoga for breast cancer surgery on youtube. It had a first week after surgery, then week 2 after surgery, etc That was very helpful. I don't remember the name, sorry!

To those who chose NO reconstruction
I have been really struggling to decide but recently chose to live flat. I'm 56 and have always been large breasted and hated it. I was always limited on what kind of tops I could wear. Now, i'm going to live the extreme opposite and am nervouse but going to try and embrace it. I figure no one is using these things, they are just going to waste, so might as well live flat! I hope you all are doing well and are healthy!
