I am quite sick today
My first thought was Cancer, my second COVID.
At the end of the day, I've probbaly just got flu or something.
I'm too young to get the shot. My husband - who is younger than me, and its his birthday today - has had his.
I'm glad the shot makes you feel safer.

That’s great Abita!
Hello Abita I'm so happy to hear that you got your 1st covid vaccine ! Which vaccine did you get? I got Moderna, had 1st one on feb 10 and 2nd is on March 10 ! I did have side effects. Headache body aches, sweaty. No fever. I checked. But felt warm heartburn. Im wondering if I'll have side effects after the 2nd vaccine ! I'm a stage 4 B endometerial cancer survivor ! Just wanted to know how you felt after the vaccine ? Sincerely Yetti

I got pfizer. So far, no side effects, but it has only been about 2 hours
Hope you and I both have easy time with the 2nd dose!
I feel very lucky to have gotten it through MSK, as it was easy peasy. I see the lines on TV, and that looks not so great.
Such a pretty cat!

Yes
Congratulations on your first dose! Isnt it wonderful to be vaccinated? Knowing one worry, covid, is gone?
I felt so happy about my first dose. I thought this whole pandemic will end soon because of this, studies will go back to normal and meeting friends is okay then even though I will have patients again.
I hope your arm is well. My arm really hurt for 2 days. I will get my 2nd dose tomorrow. Hope I wont get "sick".

It is such a relief! I know I still have a second dose to go, and then the time for it to take effect, but it feels so good to be on the way!
Good luck on no effects from the second dose. It has only been 2 hours, so far so good.

You have the Pfizer one right? There are already some studies which are not proofread yet so not official that even before your 2nd dose you will have a slight protection from covid. I believe it was around 60% after 2 weeks. So yeah the mRNA already does its work.
Thanks! I am just happy to be protected from tomorrow on. Also my parents are, one worry less for their child
Keeping my fingers crossed that you wont get side effects

NY is good at getting the doses out, so your age group is already open to getting. They were before the immunocompromised. I knew I wanted this, but honestly, it was even more. I feel like a HUGE albatross has been lifted.

Woo hoo!
For 24 hours after my sister got her second shot, she felt exactly how I felt with COVID. Body pain, fever and fatigue, but a day later she was completely normal again. My 80 year old grandfather felt nothing with both shots. So hopefully you get no side effects at all and even if you do, way better than COVID obviously! Just make sure you don't take any antii inflammatory medicine if you have side effects because they say that lessens your immune response. Congratulations!

However, for either vaccine, the issue I believe is that because of lowered immunity due to chemo, they are not sure if those on chemo will build the anti-bodies needed.

that you had a reaction to your second dose.
Here's hoping that it has all passed, and you are able to go back to work.

Not on the short list
According to my oncologist last week, I'm too young and with no symptoms I'm not on any short list to get the vaccine. Good? I don't know. I've known a couple people who've had the dreaded covid-19. One, a while back said they got sicker than a dog for a couple weeks. Another from last week said she'd had it and it wasn't even as bad as the last flu she had. Also added that since she's now got the antibodies to it that being close to her would be a benefit. Maybe that was a ploy, lol.0 -

Glad that your friends are okay, but over half a million have died in this country, and also there are pople with long term effects. So I am happy to get my vaccine.
